Manx GP
Those that attended BC this year and recent big & wee Macs will remember Bob and Pete the "elderly" brothers who ride rather quickly. Pete rides an equally elderly silver Honda VFR. I have just received news this morning that Pete has crashed heavily whilst practicing for the Classic Manx GP race, and has suffered a broken collar bone and pelvis, and no doubt multiple bruising. He's being flown to Liverpool this morning for an operation, as I get updates on his condition, I'll post up.

Not a lot more to tell except that he wasn't flown to Liverpool on wed. morning due to internal bleeding, but will hopefully be transferred today. The accident happened at the "gooseneck"

Re: Manx GP
Hi all, Just spoken to Bob, (Pete's brother) He went to see him yesterday in Liverpool hospital. He is in quite a lot of pain, but is putting a brave face on it all. Pete says he thinks he blacked out just before the accident, but I think this is a natural occurrence of the mind blanking out the awful truth. I'm sure Ellie will concur and explain better. In practice, the day prior to the accident Pete was complaining of poor handling, and one of Pete's mates thinks there was a problem with the forks. I have passed to Ross a photo of the actual accident that was taken by a photographer stationed on that corner, and appeared full page on one of the islands newspapers the following day, and asked him to post it on the site. ( to complicated for me) Its a bit grainy as its been lifted from the actual paper but, for all that quite a dramatic image.

Re: Manx GP
Oh my goodness, that's scarey stuff.
You're right about the blanking out thing, it's self preservation.
Thanks for keeping us posted, Hope he feels better real soon
