Wee Mac 2014/04/(11th->14th) SIGN UP - Selkirk - Back for even more
Hi All
In a bizarre moment of organisation I've provisionally booked Broadmeadows House just outside Selkirk again since Wee Mac 2012 and 2013 were brilliant and the digs were great value, stunning and gave us a great base.
CHECK IT OUT - HERE
In April 2012 most of us stayed in Broadmeadows and a few stayed at the other local accommodation which was just down the road (unless you follow Cath back - sorry Cath). If there is over-spill from Broadmeadows then we can certainly use this again.
In April 2013 most of us stayed in Broadmeadows and a few stayed at other accommodation in Selkirk.
Read up on WeeMac 2012 HERE
Read up on WeeMac 2013 HERE
Some rooms are doubles only, some are SuperKing with the option to split into singles (twin room) and some are dedicated twin rooms so the singles will need to share.
So what do I need to know - I NEED people to commit on this page to get your name on the priority list if you want to stay at Broadmeadows. The first 22 will (unless I hear otherwise) have their space guaranteed when they pay their deposit. Everyone else will be on the reserve list for Broadmeadows in the order they signed up.
Until midnight Friday 23rd August I'll give folks who stayed in Broadmeadows (2013) first dibs on the accommodation but ANYONE can put their name on this sign-up page and from that point you're in the queue.
Ross (Rosco)
Euan (BravePill)
Dave (DBD)
Rich (Panzerbuilder)
Dave (Mr Nutt)
Terry Lees (Terry Lees)
Chris (Greencat)
Chris (Eddie990) & Katie (DOUBLE)
Rob & Linz (RobCat & LittleNinja) (DOUBLE)
Martin (Mevsyd)
Cath (Littlecat) + Owen (DOUBLE)
Paul (Krusty) & Karina (DOUBLE)
Mally(MalcolmDuncan)
Costs - (similar to last year) I've worked out approximate costs as follows
Big Hoose (3 night stay) will be a total cost of approx £100 (better value ) - we NEED to fill this (10 spaces)
Rest of Broadmeadows (3 night stay) will be a total cost of approx £100 (4 + 4 + 2 = 10 spaces)
There are two additional beds that they can supply for our use.
This cost will pay for your accommodation and supplies for breakfast.
We then buy supplies for evening meals and drinks add on any shortfall or subtract any overpayment and then split this between everyone. Teetotallers will get a reduction. Jaikeys should really pay extra but we normally just milk it don't we Dave.
It really is a 5 star stay for a 2 star cost
I NEED the first 22 people on the list to confirm and pay a deposit £35 PP by Friday 30th August so I'll be looking for people to get their deposits to me before then to REALLY book your place. I'll come back to folks next weekend with an update of what you got in the lucky dip and hopefully it works out that everyone is happy. You can't please all the people all the time but we'll do our best.
If you have to cancel you will only lose your deposit if we can't find a replacement.
If lots of people cancel then we've got a problem that will have to be shared - but hopefully that won't happen.
Hopefully everyone will get the right room but there might need to be a bit of jiggery-pokery in the sleeping arrangements if you know what I mean.
The RIDEOUT is a TWO day event with one on Saturday 12th and one on Sunday 13th April 2014
Please note that folks who wish to attend the event are welcome to organise their own accommodation.
Will also be looking for volunteer chefs, assistant chefs nearer the time. Everyone needs to muck in though.
SIGNUP
e.g.
Rosco (Ross) + 1
Looking to stay for 3 nights (Big Hoose), require a double or two singles depending on who I can talk into attending.
Bravepill (Euan) - Might be my +1 or he might be looking for a ride.

Re: Wee Mac 2014/04/(11th->14th) SIGN UP - Selkirk - Back for even more
So if your names not down, you're not coming in?
Thought all accomodation at all rideouts was first come, first served?
Thats right, penalise us that were slaving away last year in the heat & swimming in shark infested waters in the Maldives on our honeymoon instead of living it up in Scotland...
Way too early for us to commit yet so I guess we'll just have to take a chance.

Re: Wee Mac 2014/04/(11th->14th) SIGN UP - Selkirk - Back for even more
Like Ellie says, Its short notice for us with sorting babysitters etc & August is a very financially heavy month for us with holidays & two rideouts to pay for in Sept so I am unable to commit as yet, however saying that I also wouldn't want to be staying away from the main group as that means a taxi ride if you fancy a beer?
I will keep an eye on how things pan out but as much as I enjoyed WeeMac 2012 it looks as though its against us for next year at this point

Right, we'd like to sign up.... for our Honeymoon Part Deux, this time it's personal (and hopefully in the same room as each other, without additional bodies ) - double (if possible) for us (or Kingsize for more fun ), for 3 nights..... do we just send the deposit direct to your account as usual?
Both of us happy to cook, wash up, whatever....... and, as usual, we will be doing our own 'Mini Wee Mac ' should anyone else wish to join us either day
Fi and Jon

Deposit paid by our young boy.
Being as we missed Bishops Castle and Big Mac this year, we are a def for this one.
Like a few I take it, will depend on the school holidays if we have to return home on the Sunday or the Monday.

A bit like Pete (and some others above), it's to early for us to commit, and as Pete says "pointless putting our name down" only to be crossed off later.
Me n Bea have tried year on year to get to one of these Mac's, but something always seems to conspire against us.
We too shall look closer the time for what spaces - if any - are left , or go on the reserve list as others have indicated.
So, you can take this as a note of "intent", but not a firm booking
Cheers

Good Friday next year is the 18th/21st Easter Monday. But again, depending on holidays, it looks like we shall be up there late on the Friday no matter what as that might be the date before the half term starts for kids.

If you want me to just book the first two nights then I can just book one of the apartments (East Lawn) that has two double rooms. I'm fairly sure this will be fine with the owners.
That we you'd only need to pay for 2 nights. With a possibility of extending another night (assuming no-one is booked in the night after)
Let me know.
Cheers

Please put Hilary (backagain) and me down for a double for 3 nights
We'll be flying into Edinburgh and rent bikes there.
Can you PM me the details of where the deposit should go? Or Paypal an option since bank transfer to UK is expensive?
