Wee Mac 2014/04/(11th->14th) SIGN UP - Selkirk - Back for even more

Hi All

In a bizarre moment of organisation I've provisionally booked Broadmeadows House just outside Selkirk again since Wee Mac 2012 and 2013 were brilliant and the digs were great value, stunning and gave us a great base.

In April 2012 most of us stayed in Broadmeadows and a few stayed at the other local accommodation which was just down the road (unless you follow Cath back - sorry Cath).  If there is over-spill from Broadmeadows then we can certainly use this again.

In April 2013 most of us stayed in Broadmeadows and a few stayed at other accommodation in Selkirk.

Some rooms are doubles only, some are SuperKing with the option to split into singles (twin room) and some are dedicated twin rooms so the singles will need to share.

So what do I need to know - I NEED people to commit on this page to get your name on the priority list if you want to stay at Broadmeadows.  The first 22 will (unless I hear otherwise) have their space guaranteed when they pay their deposit. Everyone else will be on the reserve list for Broadmeadows in the order they signed up.

Until midnight Friday 23rd August I'll give folks who stayed in Broadmeadows (2013) first dibs on the accommodation but ANYONE can put their name on this sign-up page and from that point you're in the queue.

Costs - (similar to last year) I've worked out approximate costs as follows

Big Hoose (3 night stay) will be a total cost of approx £100 (better value ) - we NEED to fill this  (10 spaces)
Rest of Broadmeadows (3 night stay) will be a total cost of approx £100 (4 + 4 + 2 = 10 spaces)
There are two additional beds that they can supply for our use.

This cost will pay for your accommodation and supplies for breakfast.
We then buy supplies for evening meals and drinks add on any shortfall or subtract any overpayment and then split this between everyone.  Teetotallers will get a reduction. Jaikeys should really pay extra but we normally just milk it don't we Dave.

It really is a 5 star stay for a 2 star cost

I NEED the first 22 people on the list to confirm and pay a deposit £35 PP by Friday 30th August so I'll be looking for people to get their deposits to me before then to REALLY book your place.  I'll come back to folks next weekend with an update of what you got in the lucky dip and hopefully it works out that everyone is happy. You can't please all the people all the time but we'll do our best.

If you have to cancel you will only lose your deposit if we can't find a replacement.
If lots of people cancel then we've got a problem that will have to be shared - but hopefully that won't happen.

Hopefully everyone will get the right room but there might need to be a bit of jiggery-pokery in the sleeping arrangements if you know what I mean.

The RIDEOUT is a TWO day event with one on Saturday 12th and one on Sunday 13th April 2014
Please note that folks who wish to attend the event are welcome to organise their own accommodation.

Will also be looking for volunteer chefs, assistant chefs nearer the time.  Everyone needs to muck in though.

Nice one Thomas and Hilary  Kinda puts me to shame that I can't 'fly' up on my bike from London.

That's just always going to be known as a 'long day' Steve, London - Selkirk.

Or our type of flying is called the autozug.

If only we had AutoZug in the UK  

Top man Ross, we will deffo only be staying the 2 nights do if you can put us in there that would be great.

I know some folks have already paid deposits.....I'd rather sort them our next week.

Note that once Broadmeadows is full there will still be space locally (at the wee schoolhouse within walking distance) OR plenty of places in Selkirk (around 6 miles East)

Ross, just got back yesterday so missed the deadline. :(  But due to jet lag am able to do this at 1: 21 am.

That is brill.
I'll put your name down but I don't need any deposit just yet.

You'll be the first one on the list for the extra accommodation.
Once we have at least ONE or preferably TWO or more folks interested I can try and get the Old Schoolhouse booked (if that is what you all fancy).
It will be cheaper than staying at Broadmeadows and it isn't too far a walk. (as long as you've torches and don't get lost)
Alternatively there is accommodation in Selkirk (about 6 miles away)

Just no spaces left in the main building at the moment.  I have asked if they will take more but they won't :(

Need at least ONE, preferably TWO more to sign up so that we can book the School house just 0.5 miles down the road (MAP HERE)

Unfortunately Thomas & Hilary are not going to be able to make it due to a combination of either very unsuitable flights or very expensive flights.

Therefore two spaces have become available (they can be two singles or a double)
I'll hold them till this Friday midnight for those of you already in the waiting (for a free space @ Broadmeadows) area of the sign up page.

Hi Rosco, looks like I can't make it after all...rather hacked off. I will give you a bell when I get 5

Bad news... I have to pul out of this one now too. I started my new kob in Jan and the end of our financial year is March. We have our annual sales meting in Twickenham on the 10th asnd 11th April which would mean me driving back from London at 5.30pm, getting home about 12 and then riding to Selkirk.. Not possible so if anyone wants our spaces please let me know. Apologies..

People - stop dropping out, I wasn't going to do a lot of rideouts this year but your making it very hard to resist!!!  

Gutted John, but that would be a bit much for one day..

So ride up the Saturday! Beers Saturday night. Ride out Sunday. Beers Sunday night. Ride back Monday.

TWO of the spaces can be TWIN or DOUBLE.
The remaining will be either part of a twin or possibly a single.

He has two confirmed (Brian R & Keith R) and one hopeful to confirm soon.
Hopefully know by the weekend.

All going to plan we will be able to refund Martin and Tony their deposits soon.
