Sorry to hear that Chris, hope things return to 'normal' soon. Don't be a stranger here because you don't have your 'Cat.

Re: Sad sad times in the rampers gaff
I could be a blasphemer here, but ragging and cruising my various cars and company vehicles around the Highlands and Islands has been just as much fun as I've had on the bike.
Over the last 20 years it must be coming close to a million miles (definitely above 750,000).
Upshot is I hate the term 'cager'.
Seems like the sort of term coined by commuters who sit in traffic jams every morning and evening, and who've never actually enjoyed the sort of driving experience in a car as they've had on a bike.
Not saying it's always been pleasant (some miserable times on the bike has been had as well), but driving from Braemar, through Glenshee, to Blairgowrie in the middle of a clear winter night (in a warm car, with good music and the whole road to yourself) for instance, is utter bliss.
Sorry you've had to give up the bike mate, but don't write off the car as being a drudge.
It can come into it's own on the right roads, at the right time. (..for me it's at night in the middle of nowhere with the stars out)

Re: Sad sad times in the rampers gaff
Soz, was a bit out of my tree last night.
I've pulled a muscle on my floating ribs (damn sore) and discovered that two co-codamol and a bottle of wine don't mix.

Oh, I don't know about that, some nice roads you had going there. Doubt a box of co-codamol and a bottle of the Captain's finest (Cpt Morgan) could get me on a trip like that in a car in London. Maybe just as well as I don't have a car !!

Probably a good idea in London.
At least you have a licence, the last bloke I worked with down there (an old Cockney) didn't even have one.
I could see his point though.
Just think Rampers, for the next year or two you'll have something else to look forward to.
