Had a crash, need advice please guys - pics up
First topic message reminder :
I was patiently waiting to go at the roundabout, the lad behind me though it was ok to drive into the back of me. So he has accepted his as its his fault,
pretty gutted, it was such a nice day and i said to my self just take it easy on the bike lol,
It was such a nice bike, the paintwork was mint and it brought a smile to my face everytime :(
Is there anything i need to be aware of when pursuing this claim, this is the first time someone crashed into me,
any advice would be much appreciated

Ok now I've clicked onto which bike it is..... I'd say there is only one person who can repair that as good as it used to be, I'm in the trade myself & I know how hard it will be to match that paint without knowing EXACTLY what make & colour it is, ask Jayster if he is interested in quoting to repair it mate?
Better job for you & a few quid in Jays pocket

I did quote the magazine yesterday, doesn't make it any less painful though.
Hope all works out and this prize feline is back on the road.

Sorry mate I don't know any good garages around Woking for paint (I know an excellent one for MOTs and service/repair work round the corner from Woking Yamaha if you need one) and I'm inclined to agree with above comments, if you want it done to the same standard then I would take it to the same place. Really gutted for you though mate

You know that and we know that but it's amazing what some @#%*€ will come up with to try and wriggle out of it. I've heard similar instances where the cage driver turns round and says the biker cut them up and stopped quickly in front of them. I kid you not!ttboy1988 wrote:There is no way this guy can deny anything, on a clear sunny day at 12 midday in dry conditions. if he didnt see me he has to be blind lol, i will looking in the RSS if things dont go according to plan.
Best of luck with it though, I really hope he's honest about what happened.

Damn you gone smashed up all my hard work!... bugger!
Firstly if you go through insurance it will write the bike off, especially if it's grazed the frame. You will seriously struggle to get the paintwork redone to the same standard, as you all saw it was a process which took around 6 months... the white was a custom mixed for purpose colour.
If the insurance want to write the bike off then I would seriously advise buying it back as cheaply as possible... hopefully they won't try and wiggle out of the claim if you forgot to mention an of the upgrades....
To build another one of these would cost around 4000 and take around 5 months. If your insurance need a quote for repair you'll have to let me know.

So I took the bike in for a Estimate at a bike shop in Camberley ALTAMURA part of the BLD group.
The total comes to nearly £1700 , i am guessing that its going to be a write off. So gutted as well when summer is around the corner and i was looking forward to enjoying the bike. its a shame all that hard work that jayster has put in.

You took it to the competition?? Frowny face.
Altamura have no chance at all of matching that paint job!
Plus the bike still has dream machine stickers all over it so thats bound to bump the price up with the competition!
Do you need a quote from the original, biggest, most experienced and in my opinion best motorcycle paint work specialists in the country?

Re: Had a crash, need advice please guys - pics up
Update : The bike has been written off, the bike was valued at £2700 so not bad overall, i am keeping the bike for the value of £675.
Need to tidy her up, will keep her throughout the summer or at the end of it she might be up for sale as i circumstances (no job) means that i wont be able to insure her when the insurance runs out in November.

Before going back out on the public roads, I would check with your broker/insurance provider that your policy has not been cancelled as a result of the claim and subsequent write off action.
