Off to Spain in the morning
Dirt Bike Dave, Furball, Eddie990, Catapulted, TerryLees and I are off to Spain tomorrow. (well heading doon sooth tomorrow and then the Ferry on the Sunday)
Hoping to set a new record of the furthest travelled on my bike but won't want to be breaking this NAUGHTY RECORD
We might get a chance to post up while we are there but if not I'm sure we will bore to tears with stories and pictures and maybe even some video when we come back.
Radar has set the bar for write-ups ....... don't know if we'll manage to raise the bar but we will try.
Cheers
Rosco

Re: Off to Spain in the morning
If your in the neighbourhood you just gotta do the Tossa de Mar to Sant Feliu de Guixols road in the YouTube video and shown on the wee map.
It's about 70 miles North and East of Barcelona.

Ran out of video before the road ends.
If you're not screaming for a straight bit of road at the end, there's something mildly wrong with you.

Hope you all have a fab time - look out for Xs on the roads (and make sure you wear baggy trousers if you go to 'the country that must not be mentioned'! seeing as how you're not taken Euan to act as you Bee-atch!)

Re: Off to Spain in the morning
Day 1: We made it to Leominster. Rosco kept us late by going to the wrong service station. Even though the correct one is only 10mins from his house. Davie then tried to water his helmet from the inside and bits keep falling off Rosco's bike. Chris (eddie990) has a clutch problem we're franticly trying to sort before the ferry tomorrow.so far me and terry are numpty point free!!

Re: Off to Spain in the morning
Rosco here on dave's iPhone.... We are now in the bar on the ferry. Got a new bulb but didn't get time to fit it. Chris's clutch gave up and we all took it in turns to push him (bump start) him except terry who used the excuse that since he could put his hazards on that excused him from pushing. Never sweated so much in my leathers. we managed to get bottles of hydraulic fluid in exeter to get chris going again. On 3rd pint now, hope the journey is smooth.
Cheers

Re: Off to Spain in the morning
So far the weather has been excellent. Roads are fantastic. We went thru the mountains yesterday and stopped for a snowball fight. Last night was barbecue and red wine night. Nothing else has fallen off Rosco's bike and me , chris and terry hunted down a KTM dealer ( eventually). Really helpful as they didn't have the part so they stripped one off a new bike in the showroom. Chris is chuffed to bits his bike is back to 100%. Furballs, Rosco and catapulted rode into France for lunch today .We've been stopped by the rozzers once and just a quick license check and that was that.
Shifting camp tomorrow, hopefully find another site with free wifi.

Re: Off to Spain in the morning
we've made it to a campsite just outside Barcelona. Last night was spent at a campsite on the shores of lake caspe. Rosco tried his hand at windsurfing. Pretty successfully too. Weather has been ace and the scenery has been breathtaking. I got ass f* cked for a front tyre in Barcelona. 213 fekkin euros !! The boys have all been very symapthetic. NOT!! Day off the bike tomorrow doing touristy stuff in Barcelona then it's back to the mountains.

Re: Off to Spain in the morning
Back home after approx 3000 miles.
Great trip. Northern Spain is beautiful and roads are unbelievable. Made to be ridden on. Weather was brill, company was brill, spanish tyres were expensive and my chain is nearly hanging off now.
Will post up some pics soon(ish). I think there may be one or two caption competitions.
Cheers

Re: Off to Spain in the morning
Hi Guys,
Great to see a post telling us you're back.
Had only been wondering today how you were all getting on.
Hope to hear all about it once you've managed to rest up. Oh and see the pics - just to make me feel even better!
Cheers,
Chris
PS Have just had the bike serviced, MOT'd and new chain and sprokets - so when are you going again

Re: Off to Spain in the morning
I managed to get home about 10pm on Thursday. Took me a whole day to recover so only just posting up now.
Had a fantastic time on some seriously tyre shagging roads. My brand new rear for the trip is now officially toasted and I expect to spend the entire bank holiday removing my newly aquired insect graveyard from the bike.
As a group we had a couple of mechanical gremlins to overcome along the way but we all made it back to the UK with big grins, invisible chicken strips and empty pockets.
Right off to wash me Rammies then

Re: Off to Spain in the morning
Wow! what can i say? Still can't believe its all over..
The roads, the craic, all in all a fantastic time was had by all...even tho i got shafted for a couple of tyres ( note to self....next time get new rubber BEFORE you go to Spain)..Don't think i've laughed for so much for so long..even tho my tyre prices were the butt of most of the hilarity.
Think Rosco takes the prize for having the most amount of different items bungied onto a bike...ever..
Can't believe road after road was so good..and the scenery was better than anything i've come across before.
Just over 3000 miles and still itching to get back on the bike today...
