another cat from Spain
Hi mates! Here comes a 2001 Blue Thundercat from the southwest of Spain. Since I was a baby my house has been always full of motorbikes (my father owns a 1990 Virago XV535, a Moto Guzzi Cardelino 75, my brother owns a 2007 Ducati 749) I have owned bikes since I was 14 with bikes like Aprilia RS50, a 200cc pitbike and a GasGas EC200 (2 stroke enduro power!!). Now I'm very happy with my 'cat and I think I'm not going to change it for a long time. I came here to discover new things about our amazing 'cats and make new friends. I can say, that I own my bike since june last year, 39k on the odo, two owners before me but it was perfect... A year after, 41k on the odo, and no problems at all. I bought it from a man that was going abroad and had to sell it so it was my chance. Hope I can meet nice people here and learn more about my 'cat.
Me and my Bro with his 749 (We weren't wearing our leather suits because we were just testing new stuff)

Welcome to the forum - was that by chance you happened to stop in front of that picture? (Would've been a good one for a caption competition).

Thanks for the warm welcome, you'll see me around from time to time here...there isn't a thundercat club or forum in Spain and it looks like I'm going to learn a lot of things here.
It was by chance. We stopped in a friend's fuel station and he took the picture to post it in his blog.

Hola Spanish_Thundercat
No hablo español
Glad you found us here. I was in a group of 6 bikers (all from this forum) who visited northern Spain in and around the Pyrenees last year.
You have a beautiful country, fantastic scenery, fantastic roads (the twisty ones - coloured green on the map we had), lovely food and inexpensive wine (well the stuff we had was --- typical scots couldn't pass up the bargains.)
Can you tell us why the tyres as so expensive....was there a tourist tax?
Around 500 euros for new tyres for a fireblade????
Cheers

Welcome to the site and well done on finding us. I'm sure there'll be more trips to Spain in the future so you might be able to make a rideout! Glad you're enjoying the cat. It's a great bike and you have the perfect roads to use it to it's full ability - enjoy.

Re: another cat from Spain
Thanks to all for the warm welcome.
I don't know how much do a pair of new tyres cost there, but here you pay €338 for the new continental race attack (just the tyres, then you have to pay the assembly that can cost more or less €50 (1 hour to put them)) and i think they also ask for money to destroy your old tyres...i'm afraid that there wasn't a tourist tax, but you can find them cheaper deppending on the place you go.
