Re: Can anybode help to repair my bike?
Hi Tom.
Really sorry to hear that.
What's the damage?
I'm no mechanic but i have a haynes manual, a maintenance manual some
tools and can normally manage up to 3/5 spanner jobs in the Haynes manual.
I'll try and give you a hand if I can.
Cheers
Ross

Re: Can anybode help to repair my bike?
Sorry to hear about your crash. I was knocked off by a cager earlier in the year. It's not a nice experience. Hope you aren't too badly injured. Like everyone told me, at least you are in one piece, the bike is repairable/replacable.
I'm miles away from Glasgow but will help via here as much as I can and I'm sure others will too. What's the damage like? Mainly Cosmetic?
Might be worth getting it checked over at a trusted garage first just to check nothing's twisted/bent before you go blowing money on it.
Regards
Mike

Re: Can anybode help to repair my bike?
I'm glad it's getting sorted. You said the accident wasn't your fault, was another driver involved? Are you going to claim from their insurance?

Re: Can anybode help to repair my bike?
Well hopefully it won't be too long a process for you. Mines still going on now from May and doesn't like it'll end any time soon.
From your picture it's clear that it wasn't your fault. Hopefully they admit fault and it'll be straight forward for you.
Regards
Mike

Re: Can anybode help to repair my bike?
Bloomin Eck.
That could have been so much worse.
Are you injured at all?
Sounds like insurance should take care of it.
As folks have said it can be a long drawn out process with insurance claims.
Hope it is resolved quickly for you.
With regards to fixing your bike - Glad you've got someone who should know what they are doing rather than me thinking I might know what I'm doing
Good Luck

Re: Can anybode help to repair my bike?
If the car was overtaking and from the description you've given then I'd say it is 100% the drivers fault.

Re: Can anybode help to repair my bike?
Amateur, my crash from March is still ongoing!
The Police officer can offer his opinion, but it is the Insurers that will decide liability, and if you have the third party admitting it was their fault, then it sounds like it should be a reasonably open and shut case.
Good luck getting it all sorted, but from experience they will write the bike off... but hold out for a good valuation, as they're worth a good couple of grand in decent condition.

Re: Can anybode help to repair my bike?
I'd agree as well. One of the Police officers who attended my accident was similar as well. I think they try and stay neutral for some reason.

Re: Can anybode help to repair my bike?
Hire car? I had a hire bike from Hexagon in London. But as long as you've got transport that's the main thing. Sounds like they've admitted liability if they've provided you with a hire car.

Re: Can anybode help to repair my bike?
Surely if that diagram is accurate & the police were involved then the driver would have been charged with careless driving as a minimum?

Re: Can anybode help to repair my bike?
Good luck with it all Tom, I've just been through the same nightmare and still have an unrideable bike through no fault of my own.
If its written off they pay out fairly quickly tho.
