Re: Finally
Nothing wrong with the look or condition of your bike, just far to clean for my liking, makes my bike look rather grubby . The only dull bits on your bike are the brake hoses, a nice set of Hel gloss black ones would look nice.
Did see one little thing not quite right, your rear wheel spindle is the wrong way round the nut should be on the left hand side of the bike. Two reasons for this is that it will stop it from undoing and the nut can hit the silencer under full suspension deflection. The silencer looks better after the paint job.

I dont get the whole RW spindle nut being on the wrong side thing. Mines been like that for 5k miles and wheels been off and on 3 times, never had an issue with it??

I've never had a problem with it either but I can see how it could hit the exhaust when you bottom out the suspension
An I apologise oldcat! It's habit to just type them out
Thanks for the views guys Really appreciate them!

Re: Finally
It's a great feeling to get your bike back together and be able to ride again.
Tell us a little more about yourself! Having you been riding long?
Good on you for doing the Jobs yourself!

Re: Finally
Im hoping it will be done professionally and with new parts John so I wont be doing anything, Im still gutted and can't yet laugh about it!
I know theres another young lady on the forum thats feeling particularly gutted too, but Tweetie the Triumph will be good as new soon Im sure.
The parts I priced up yesterday alone are £2000+.

Re: Finally
Damn! 2k+
I know what you mean about the young lady, I would have been mortified if it had been me and we are all very attached to our bikes in an emotional way and don't like seeming them damaged.
I'm sure you'll be relieved to have 'Tweetie' back between your legs as soon a possible.

Hey ellie,
2k is a hell of a lot of money!! dare i ask what happened??
Definitely a good feeling to get the bike on the road again, especially with this weather I have only done the cosmetic jobs myself, those and the exhaust lol and i guess thats mainly because once i had bought all the bits i wanted i couldn't afford not to do it myself
As for me well i have been riding about 1 1/2 years, a friend took me out on the back of his bandit and i fell in love with the freedom and the fun!! I had a moment of complete insanity on the 3rd ride and went and booked my CBT, swiftly followed by my direct access! best spur of the moment decision i ever made, well that and buying the cat! which i bought before i passed not sure if it was brave or stupid but i havnt looked back and i have a great bike which is teaching me how much fun it is to just get on and go!! Thats about it where the bike is concerned just Horses and band that take up the rest of my time
I hope you get your bike up and running soon!! Im with john that we get emotionally attached and seeing our bikes damaged hurts more than we like to admit!!

Re: Finally
Hi Hx,
I had my bike about 1 1/2 months before I did my test. It gives you a little extra motivation I think.
