Hey up All
First topic message reminder :
Hey all, Well suppose I'd better tell you a little about me, I'm Kev 36 from Ellesmere Port in Cheshire, just got into biking and currently doing my D.A.S, Passed Module One with no minors (stroke of luck), got module two next Wednesday (fingers crossed), anyway after weeks of looking at various bikes I made the decision to buy myself a Thundercat, Its a 96 with 32k on the clock and I'm collecting it on Saturday, I'm newish to the area I'm living in and looking to meet up with fellow bikers for a ride out or just a chat. I may have the Mrs with me if she braves the pillion role.
I've included a couple of pics, hope this is ok with the site mods etc...
Can't wait to get it home now.

Re: Hey up All
Hi all spent a little time with the old polish today (2 hours), so thought I'd post a few extra pics up.....
I also have a question regarding the tank protector.. I want to replace it with a carbon effect one because the original is a horrible dull grey colour, and as been applies twisted, what's the best way to go about removing the old one and the sticky residue it leaves behind..

Re: Hey up All
Usually it's a case of applying some heat with a hair-dryer (don't use a hot air paint stripper - too hot!) and slowly peeling it off. Try getting most of the 'glue' off by heating it up and rubbing it off with a cloth or scraping it with a plastic non-scratch tool. If that fails then you need to use a solvent, and probably will anyway to remove the last traces. Try white spirit first - carefully and cautiously apply using a piece of cloth to see if that does the job. Don't let it dribble down into the bike. Let us know how you get on.

Cheers mate,
Well I used the hair dryer, but ended up using white spirit to remove glue residue, then used loads of mer polish and its come up a treat, really pleased with the result, got a carbon effect one to replace the dull grey one. I just can't wait to pass Mod 2 now on Wednesday (fingers crossed) so I can get out and ride the lovely beast, Well see what you reckon I think I got a near perfect finish.....

Re: Hey up All
Best of luck to you matey. If you mastered the MOD1 the MOD2 should be a breeze especially if you know the area, just take it easy and enjoy!
I did mine in the pouring rain in November and the examiner and trainee followed in a car which I liked as he couldnt hear me missing the odd gear and seriously over revving the poor little ER5s engine, as well as loosing him a couple of times which killed some time.
I myself was a late starter and I'm seriously loving every minute of it.

Welcome to the site, remember good things come to those who wait, best of luck on the 16th. Slightly of the topic but on track so to speak, if you need a good workshop or riding advice there's a good workshop in your area,
http://www.twowheelworkshop.com/find_us.html
follow the racing link aswell. They do there own race bikes.
