Can anyone tell me how to do it , the easy way, I don't use my laptop much because I can do most of what I want on my phone but can't work out an easy way to get pics off it and onto the forum,
At the moment I'm having to plug my phone in, upload to photo bucket then link, is there an easier way??

Re: Pictures from iPhone to the forum
You can't do it straight from iPhone. Get yourself a photobucket account (free), download the photobucket app. From the app store. You then use the app to upload the photos to photobucket, photobucket gives you the link which u just past into your forum message - I take it you know how to copy and paste on you iPhones?
If u need more info then let me know.

Re: Pictures from iPhone to the forum
And you know what John I downloaded that app ages ago an never really looked at it properly.
Did the typical man thing,
1- downloaded it,
2 - opened it,
3 - found it didn't do exactly what I wanted it to do at that moment in time,
4 - thought it was crap,
5 -deleted it.
On re-download and further exploration it appears to be just what I need, cheers John

Re: Pictures from iPhone to the forum
If the Admins enabled Tapatalk on the forum then you could do this from any supported platform.
Posting a reply through Tapatalk gives you the option of uploading and image from your gallery, or even straight from the camera.
-edit- He, he, that reads like spam..
It also makes the forum easier to browse on Smartphones.

Re: Pictures from iPhone to the forum
Ahh, thought I'd seen the subject covered before.
It's not hard to implement, took ten minutes on my forum iirc.

Re: Pictures from iPhone to the forum
FORUMOTION (our hosts) don't allow it. Sorry, otherwise we'd do it.
Re: Pictures from iPhone to the forum
Y to the subject inquiries on the host support forum. It mentions phpbb2 but is the same for 3 as well (what we're on).
EDIT: Bugger linky only works if you log in to the support forum
Copied & Pasted from support forum
Installing Tapatalk requires server access, which users do not have on forumotion (or on any other free hosting service). To make matters worse, the standard Tapatalk server scripts are incompatible with the phpBB2 server code used on forumotion boards -- which means a Tapatalk server script for forumotion boards would need to be written from scratch. It can be done, but I've seen no evidence in the past couple years that the good folks from eToxic would invest the time and manpower to write such a script.
I don't expect to see Tapatalk support on forumotion boards in the near (or distant) future.

No problem, the only problem I get I when you logon via the web you get plagued with adverts, but it's free so I guess there has to be a compromise. Be careful marking and albums as private - the link might then fail.

Re: Pictures from iPhone to the forum
It appears that the Tapatalk team have given up submitting code to the phpBB team for approval.
Reading between the lines, it seems that they were always behind the curve on updates.
(I'm using an outdated version on my forum, due to the fact that I haven't gotten around to updating to SMF 2.x and migrating the DB across)
There is also the option of creating a Google+ account, creating a public Thundercat image folder, uploading your pics to there and then linking to it in the forums.
You could keep a link to the folder in your sig.

Re: Pictures from iPhone to the forum
It's pretty straight forward, assuming your hosting site is Photobucket
1) you need to go to the app store and download the free app
2) log in so you can view your current albums
[You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]
3) at the bottom of the screen there is a button, "Upload Media", tap this then tap choose existing. (or "Choose Camera" if you want to take a picture to upload directly.
[You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]
Pressing this takes you into your Camera Roll where you can choose the pictures to upload.
[You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]
4) once uploaded click on the picture you want to share and press (i), this gives you the URL link codes
[You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]
5) Click on the IMG code and it will automatically copy the link
[You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]
6) go into the forum, open your post or comment and double tap the screen the click paste to pop the link code into your post.
For those who don't know if you're running the iPhone 4s (and maybe other versions I don't know) if you double tap the home key it opens a link to all the currently running programs making it easy to switch between the forum and Photobucket app if you're uploading multiple images as you can only Copy one link at a time.

Hope this helps y'all
Incidentally I did all this on the phone and it took 2 mins
