iPhone mount?
Has anyone got any suggestions for a mounting a IPhone to my bike? Ideally a water proof case with access for a charger? I want to use my phone as a satnav so I can start venturing out.
Cheers

Re: iPhone mount?
Paul (Krusty) had one that ticks all those boxes.
I've messaged him and asked him to post up.

Re: iPhone mount?
Made by Ultimate Addons he tells me.
Comes with a bracket to attach to bicycle handlebars, you'll need the ram mount socket accessory
And also something with a ram mount ball from ram mount
I'm sure google will help you find all this.
Paul might clarify the above if that doesn't make sense.

Re: iPhone mount?
Wot Ross sed.
Ultimate addons do the case which comes with a bar mount which would fit traditional handlebars but not clipons
They do a socket that clips to the back of the case that fits on to a standard ram mount ball. Google for ram mounts, there's a few different fittings that would work on thundercat

Has a few different options. I already had a ram mount ball attached to a clip on clamp so just got the case and an adaptor with 25mm socket.
If you use the headphone socket watch for the little rubber door falling off. It's been fairly secure, but I always attach the leash somewhere near the bars just in case. I've also got a waterproof cigarette lighter socket in the fairing panel (can take a pic if anyone's interested?

OK, here's the case mounted on the bike, as well as clipping it to the mount I also have a cord that I wrap round the master cylinder just to be on the safe side - there's normally the iphone charging cable which fits in the case and plugs into the cigarette lighter socket that I've installed on left inside fairing panel.

You can see the ram mount ball that's bolted to the clipon clamp - this is a standard ram mount part. The back of the case has a slotted mount as you can see - the socket for the ball clips on to this - it's a fairly positive action but it doesn't lock into place hence the paranoia and the cord.
As you can see you can still take pics, use the flash/light and the volume controls have corresponding buttons on the side.

The socket pops onto the ball and you tighten up the collar to secure it in place - you then clip the case on to that. I bought the socket as an extra - the case came with a fitting to secure it to normal bicycle handlebars
