Re: BlueZed visiting Scarborough area
Hi.
Never been on a ride out but would be interested in doing a bit of this outing. I have a BBQ to both sort out and attend come lunchtime but I "may" be able to get away for a few hours AM. Is it 9.30 at HB? What part? Humberside side? And then to Seaways?

Hi petercriss,
Yes, meet in the car park nr the cafe on the north side of the Humber Bridge. Depart at 9:30 heading for Seaways. Should be there for 10:30. Make sure you're fuelled up. I've sent you a PM with my mobile number.
Cheers,
Chris

Re: BlueZed visiting Scarborough area
OK folks, slight change of plan!
Weather is very wet. Looks like it's raining all the way to Scarborough (I've spoken to BlueZed this morning).
So the plan is now to take the car! Shame, but can't see any reason to spend all day in the rain. I'll give Stevecat, YZFJohn and mechy a lift. We won't be stopping at the Humber Bridge, but can still drop into Seaways just in case others turn up (it's kind of on the way!).
Should have picked yesterday or tomorrow
Cheers,
Chris

Re: BlueZed visiting Scarborough area
Shame about the weather for y'all today but glad you got to meet up.
Was a bit far for me to attend today but defo attending Alps in 2013.
Look forward to seeing you then BlueZed.
I think I'd mentioned before that i'm looking to add some days on before , after or before and after the German Thundercat run it next year and do a bit of touring, sightseeing.
Would really appreciate some input, suggestions from the locals - that's you Blue Zed
If you have the holidays then a guided tour would be brill but if not then a point in the right direction(s) would be the next best thing.
Not needing an answer today or tomorrow but if you can put your thinking cap on and let us know when you can that would be great.
Cheers

Re: BlueZed visiting Scarborough area
Shame about the weather today. Despite that, and having to use the car, I think it was a good turn-out and it was great to meet everyone, especially Thomas, Hilary and the children.
Respect to SteveCat for coming up all the way from Croydon and also to Panzerbuilder for being the only member on two wheels!
Hope the ride home wasn't too bad. Glad to hear John's home. Hope to hear from Steve soon.
Oh, and despite the jibes I will not be changing my riding style!

Re: BlueZed visiting Scarborough area
I was home S&S just in time to see the GP so not all bad. Sorry BZ. Didnt get to see you at Olivers M but it was a bit damp for two wheels.
Gear is still drying out, and uts still raining! It was nice to see all the familiar faces and some still had their DRY bike jackets on!
Tried the "air brakes" (bridy song)on the way home. It doesn't do anything for me. Especially in the wet!
Thanks for Steve and John for putting the miles in again!
TTFN.
Rich.

Re: BlueZed visiting Scarborough area
I managed to break the new visor on the way home. I love the Shark helmet but having to pull the visor off instead of being clipped is crap. It's the lugs that break. As it didnt seal on the way back I now have some painfully chapped lips.
Have spare helmet so will still be riding the remainder of the B/H but another £36 notes to replace.

Re: BlueZed visiting Scarborough area
Got back around 8 thirty, was wet all but the last 15 miles - think the cloud got lost following me, but realised where I was and it started raining again, luckily by then I was indoors
Around 470 miles Yamaha powered, 240 of which were wet, the rest by Honda - many thanks Chris.
When we left Chris and Pete we stopped for fuel in Newark and apart from stopping to say cheers to John it was non stop all the way home. Bikes' rather hungry, guess it has 5 miles or so left in the tank and I'd imaging it's also rather mucky.
Great to meet Mark, well done Rich for braving the rain.
Thomas, was good to see you again and to meet Hillary and the children. Hope it was a good trip home.
My pics of the day
I'll take wimp on the chin, I'm not often in a car but this was a time I was glad I didn't do the last leg by bike. There are things you can do in a car which you can't do on a bike - some good craic and also this
