Put a kipper on the exhaust manifold . . . . . Won't get rid of the smell of the milk . . . . . . but it will mask it and make you forget spilt milk

Hi Suzie
Done some research, and it is a real bugger!
Suggestions are cover in baking soda and leave overnight, then vacuum, or scrub with a 50/50 vinegar/water mix.
There is a recommended product called Woolite Oxy, but not sure where you get it!
Might be worth trying a specialist Pet shampoo?
Good luck!

Ah well, ta for all the suggestions, helpful and not so helpful!!! I could put the kipper on and then take it off and eat it when i get to work
At the moment i'm spraying with OUST every 5 mins!
Soots thanks for looking sweetie - bit confused as to where the specialist pet shampoo comes in but if it gets rid of a smell that strong i'll get some for the no-eyed dog who is a mite whiffy at the mo

Re: Does anyone know how to get rid of the smell of off milk inside a car!!!!
ps ... nothing a loss adjuster can do anything with then? I can't claim from the milk place for sending out a 2 pinter of milk with no seal under the lid? Could've been worse i suppose - it could've been a job car! Probably would have been if i'd bought it today the way my days gone - i've managed to apparently bollox the secure key cabinet which is now shrieking at me every time i put my code in and won't let me have any keys because i've apparently made an 'unauthorised withdrawal of a key fob' and i have to return it before i can get anything out - as i haven't got it it'll be a long time! I then went into the office and managed to break a shelf which i left, complete with everything that was on it, where it fell - boss came in at 5pm and said 'oh has the shelf broke' ........ then i couldn't remember the combination to get into the office at one of the other stations and had to ring the boss and ask him what it was - sure he now thinks i'm a right chump!

Pooo, what's that smell?!!! Oops sorry Suzie
Other options to try would be distilled white vinegar - pour it on and let it evaporate - it should take the smell with it.... or
Damp Rid (do an internet search and you should find it)
Worth a try - but no guarantees I'm afraid.

Re: Does anyone know how to get rid of the smell of off milk inside a car!!!!
........ and now a piece of my 'cutlery set for one' that i won at the triumph club summer barbecue has snapped!!
and i can't think why he would think that pete - i'm sure i'm a much valued member of the team
i'll have a butchers at that fi - either that or i could just flog the car!! I've now got the bloke at the garage cowering in case i go in there with yet ANOTHER headlight bulb out for him to fix (which idiot thought it was a fine idea to invent a car where you're supposed to take the bumper off to replace a headlight bulb ......... obviously a man!!!! ..... with very small hands!! )
still, could've been worse - i could've been a templar knight

Re: Does anyone know how to get rid of the smell of off milk inside a car!!!!
Suzzie - Is yours a C3? You don't have to take the bumper off!! Look in your handbag (one of many I'm sure) and find a little mirror........You prop that inside your engine (facing forwards i.e. into the back of the headlamp) now here's the skill - YOU may need a man at this point 'cos you are working in the reflection and you can't keep stoppin to look at yourself! - BUT by magic you can see the headlamp clips and with a bit of practice will be able to whip a bulb IN and OUT in under 5 minutes. The trick is to do it in daylight tho' SO MUCH EASIER!!

... but the man would be looking at me i'll have a go at that next time - it's a pain in the bum having to go there every time although they do only charge me a fiver for doing it and the bulb so its not too bad.
