Re: seat wont unlock
Have you tried pushing down hard on the seat whilst turning the key? sounds obvious but works sometimes

Re: seat wont unlock
When I locked my keys under the seat of the Thundercat (I learnt that trick from Gail ) I GENTLY pulled the rear edge of the seat up and got the pretty girl next door with small hands to reach in and get them out, this method might help youto have a look in there.
I have just had the same problem as you on the BlackBird, key in, turns really easily but the lock would not release. Turned out that the cable had come loose near the lock where it grabs the seat so there was no tension to pull the tab out to release the seat.
I had to remove the rear seat cowl and then I could get to the mech under the seat.
Hopefully for you if you can bend the seat up CAREFULLY, you might be able to hold the cable taught so that the key will open the seat, what I did then was to cable tie the cable to the frame and it works fine again.
Hope this is relevant and useful.
