to be carrying with me for BC, im guessing spare bulbs would be an idea? maybe some basic tools? what does everyong else carry, and would would be a good basic toolkit?

Yup, this'll do! I've always seen the yam as a solid workhorse, not some temperamental plaything that needs constant fettling. that said, it is a whole weekend so I'll also have some spare earplugs, my clear visor for evenings/rain, and a few bits of kitchen roll so I can give the visors a wipe.
The big question is, do I pack a stove, gas canister, kettle, mug, tea bags, sugar, milk and all that crap just so I can have an early morning brew?

Does the bunkhouse not supply a stove? Failing that knock on Rob & Linz's door and look all sad & thirsty!
I think the Boars Head where we're staying might do brekkie if you phone them?
The first tea stop also does bacon butties etc.

Well this is my conundrum. I know the first tea stop will make me a brew so I'd be hauling all that stuff half-way across the country just to make one cup of tea!

Nowdays I usually take a Map, a Sat nav and oh yes & a Spare map...............just in case
