Re: ok, what do i need ...
I went to Gemany with just the Yamaha toolkit, some spare bulbs and some chain lube. I actually had to replace the headlight bulb whilst out there and was a 5 minute job. Also had to take the rear side fairing off for some running repairs and the toolkit did the job.

Well I manage mine!
Pete (cards) is spot on and I take most of that stuff. I managed a full socket set and torque wrench (and tent, sleeping bag, football) when we went to Spain a couple of years ago but that is a bit of overkill I guess.

Sounds like a mechanics lighting conference we're going to I am sure you and your will be fine. Don't agonise over the bits to take. The standard toolkit has been fine for me.
I'm sure the reason some of us have a spare set of bulbs is for the legal requirements in some EU countries. I doubt you'll be riding in the dark to, from or whilst at BC.
Puncture kit is good provided you can find the puncture. Tin of chain lube if you like, but don't plonk it in with your clothes in case the cap comes off, but I'm sure you'd know to put it in a plastic bag first.
Take your insurance and breakdown company claims phone numbers and policy numbers, but you probably already have these in your phone.
Then when you're at BC you can ask us what we keep under our saddles

There will be plenty of Thundercat tool sets at BC so I wouldn't worry too much

Re: ok, what do i need ...
Here's some, hopefully, sensible suggestions born out of experience:
1. Bring a side stand support. Something like this. Just in case you end up parking on soft ground. Unlikely in Wales I know - it never rains there!
2. Bring some visor cleaner and a soft cloth. Something like this. This will probably one of the longer rideouts you'll do and you will encounter lots of kamikaze insects. Eventually you will feel the need to clean the visor.
3. Bring a spare key and keep it on you in an alternative, zipped pocket. The when you drop your key down a drain, into river or what ever, you won't be stranded.
4. Make sure you have all your details with you, preferrably on a piece of paper in a waterproof bag. Not in you phone - the battery will go flat. Things like breakdown/recovery details, insurance details, next of kin details, phone number of your digs. I don't want to be morbid, but it will save a lot of time if these are readily available so that any eventuality can be handled. If you really want to be prepared also get contact numbers of local bike shops (Yamaha dealers) in the area we will be riding in case you need to get spares/advice. Do put an ICE (In Case of Emergency) number in your phone that can be called if needed.
Now it'll be a rain-free, insect-free, incident-free weekend - well I can hope! Do give the bike a good check over as per the manual (yes, I know you don't have one!). Things like oil and break fluid levels, break pad wear, clutch cable wear (that one caught me out on a Big Mac and meant I never got to Skye :( ), all lights working, chain lubed, tyres correctly inflated etc
Having said all of that you are riding with others and we will help out if needed. It's all part of the fun. You may suffer ridicule in the pub later, but that's also part of the fun!
See you there,
Chris
