2011 WSB Honda Fireblade

Today the Ten Kate team officially unveiled the new Castrol-Honda liveried Fireblade for the 2011 season - and they did it where I work! It was therefore rude not to go along, see the bike, meet Jonathan Rea (and be near Ruben Xaus, Steve Parrish, Ronald Ten Kate and so on).

I am biased, of course, but it's great to see the Castrol Honda livery back in WSB. Parked on the stage with the 2011 bike was the 2002 Edwards SP-2 and the 1997 Kocinski RC45 - lined up alongside each other they looked like a family. And who can forget the last time the Castrol Honda livery was on the track, 2002, Imola, what a race.......

That bike is sweet, was just looking at it on the wsb site a bit ago. The sp2 with edwards on board was a joy to watch. Pretty cool day you had i guess. Did you tell xaus you have a cat he used to race one in 97 or 98?

Didn't get to talk to Xaus and only briefly with Rea. Funnily enough Parrish was doing some spiel and he mentioned exactly what I was thinking - the last time the Castrol Honda livery was out and about, Xaus had the best seat in the house to watch it from.

It was a great event - I'm certainly going to up my efforts to follow WSB more closely this year and maybe even get to one (last time I went was about 6 years ago at Silverstone).

Didn't Niall McKenzie race a Cat too?
