Better late than never....
Hi to all.....
I passed my DAS in April 09, just before the test procedures changed and my CBT expired.
I told everyone "there's no rush....it won't mean I have to go out and buy a much bigger bike!"
I nearly convinced myself.
I lasted less than 3 months. Fell in love with a 98 Cat in standard black & promptly upgraded from my NSR125RR (an awesome 1st bike).
I have been in love with my Cat for almost 18 months now (I know...I'm hardly a newbie) and covered 13000 miles. It's every bit as good as the reviews say. It gets nothing but admiration from previous owners at the lights. Surefooted, reliable, comfortable and I can honestly say it's one of the best looking bikes on the road. I always noticed others before I had my one.
We've been all over the southern counties together. I took it to the South coast of France in April, and all over the Alps in October. Pictures to follow. I live 5 mins from Aces Cafe and I can't believe I still know hardly any other bikers.
I'm keen to hear from the group + go on ride outs in the new year. For now, though.... a big hi from a proud new member!

Re: Better late than never....
Fantastic.
Very impressed with the miles covered in such a short space of time.
Glad you are enjoying the bike.
Easy site name to remember, just a bit on the long side. But hey why not go the long way round.
Welcome to the site.
Cheers

Re: Better late than never....
Hi & welcome. Glad to hear you're riding and enjoying your There's quite a few ride-outs we do, hopefully see you on one.
You going to do the Ace Toy run on the 12th? I'm supposed to be marshalling it, but if this weather keeps up I'm not going anywhere.
Oh, and nice colour

Re: Better late than never....
New job has me working on Saturdays, javascript:emoticonp('') so I can't make the Ace Toy Run. It's a fantastic idea, and I wish I could go.SteveCat wrote:You going to do the Ace Toy run on the 12th? I'm supposed to be marshalling it, but if this weather keeps up I'm not going anywhere.

I also need some repairs after it went down this week. Grabbed the front brake to avoid a car driver who suddenly pulled out. The force of the drop (at walking pace!) punched a hole in the starter clutch cover + bent the rear brake pedal. So frustrated! The 2 mile push home was no fun, either. Waiting for parts from the breaker's yard any day soon.

Re: Better late than never....
Sorry to hear about the off. Luckily you were ok? guess so if you managed to push the bike home. Did the car driver stop, or not even realise what he/she just caused?

Re: Better late than never....
Yeah...he stopped, and helped me lift the bike + push it off the road. Genuinely nice guy. Gave his details, but I'm undecided what to do.yamahamad wrote:Sorry to hear about the off. By the way thanks to everyone for all the warm welcomes!
