Woo hoo...I'm first.

I really enjoyed the Eifel trip in 2010. Nice roads, awesome accomodation (said the big spoon), fantastic food and a great bunch of people.

While it is a bit further to get to than last time the additional lure of mountain roads might will no doubt make me sign up very soon.

Dirt Bike Dave and I are Hull to Rotterdam Ferry experts now and will provide advice at the bar!

Anyone else considering it?

One of the members on the German site has offered to meet me on the way, in a layby off of the autobahn. No timing etc yet, but the location is here...

Point A is my start in the morning, Point B is the proposed meeting point, Point C is the destination.

I guess you'll be going the same way, so maybe somewhere we can all stop?

I've watched with some interest the meeting options on dot de.

Might be an advantage if you all did meet up with one of the locals for the ride in. Local knowledge and all that.

Hope you all have a great time . . . gutted I'm not in rude enough health to join you :(

If your German is a bit rusty, Google Chrome does a passable translation. I try and post in German as a matter of courtesy, but many read English and will reply in English (as you'll see - look for the "Clubtreffen" thread).

ermm a bit rusty isn't a an accurate summary of my German , more like non exsitent , I'm ok with Italian and French .... :lol3:

Well, I've confirmed my bike is ok, so I'm still well up for this, even if it's just me! Shame about various drop-outs but stuff happens, maybe next time!

Yes, Calais -> Venlo -> Kelbra. Possibly meeting up along the way as discussed on the .de website.

Bungalow 7 "Familie Flodders": Thunderrider + 3
Bungalow 8 "3 kleine Schweinchen und der böse Wolf": Schweinebacke, SmartCat, Sti, Mario
Bungalow 9 "Monkey business": 3*UK
Bungalow 10 "Der verlorene Sohn": Wegi, Heike, Ephors Freunde (2)

Note the UK riders have been allocated "Bungalow 9" in red above. also note the comedy naming of accommodation according to the occupiers ie The Presidential Palace for the .de founder Molchgrotte (Uli).
As we are effectionately known as Inselaffen (Island Monkeys) by our German cousins . . . you can see the relevence of the UK bungalows title

A note on feeding on the day/evening of arrival.
Because people will be arriving from all over and a differing times, no arangements have been made for group meals etc . . . so feeding will be at your own descression on Friday.
There is a Pommes Buede (Chippy) there where you can get hot food from . . . .Brattie & Chips [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.] and so on.

Das Wetter Vorhersage (Weather Forecast) for the planned trip and area looks good and you can look at the seven day forecast HERE , I'm sure you'll understand the pretty pictures and not need to translate the wording

I txted Stephan my email address so that he could send me a quick email and then I can just reply - for some reason my hotmail didn't want to know his email address !

Lol even by replying to Stehan's email , it got chucked back at me so I've emailed the other one you got Tel , and that seems to have worked , so thanks for that.

Just to check in - I am up for the meet at the location stated - I'll contact Stephan about it too. It's about 30 minutes from my overnight stop so can be there any time really. I'll PM you my mobile number.

Currently fretting about the house, packing and trying to work out what I have forgotten!

Thanks Paul for your mobile number , depending what time you all meet I'm up for it to , but I'll be a fair bit behind so if it gets too problematic I'll just meet you all there, to avoid delaying anyone .Although trying to catch up will be fun

Just one thing is clear: Holzwurm (Michael) has planned a tour to Kelbra. so we are just using the highways just half of the way to Kelbra.
