Track evening Cadwell Park
Never done one so me and a few pals have booked on to do an evening one at Cadwell on May 1st if anyone fancies it. Starts at 5pm and goes on till 8. It's a novice one and it is £59 quid.. Gives me a chance to try it before the BSB on the 23rd...

Re: Track evening Cadwell Park
you'd be fine on a track - my sister did a trackday on her Bonneville, was the slowest all day but no-one batted an eyelid and she loved every minute

Re: Track evening Cadwell Park
I've only ever done 2 track days and both have been at Cadwell.
Ducati 748 experience the first time and on the cat just before Taste of Lincolnshire 2008 (I think)
Fantastic fun!
Take it easy...........to begin with.
I managed to get some air under my front wheel going over the mountain.
Must have been able to get a Thick Lincolnshire sausage under there........ok maybe just a thinly cut Lorne.
Cheers

Re: Track evening Cadwell Park
think i,l put in my pennies worth here guys
i did the track day with rosco
he in the inter me novice im sorry to say if this is your 1st track day in my opinion .
you picked a very technical track for your 1st 1.
I've done about 6 tracks days & found this 1 very good but taxing you can,t in my opinion afford to relax
as
its very narrow
i think of all the tracks ive done this 1 had more yellow & red flags than any other
im sorry if i put you off this but i felt it was my duty to tell you this
& rosco is 1 hell of a rider like i said if its your 1st one take it easy please
pete

never done a track day and not likely to - Rosco is defo one hell of a rider and i know loads of people that have done track days and they also say that Cadwell isn't a particularly easy track esp for a novice.

Cheers mate.......But tell that to the bloody rabbit that I wish I'd just ignored rather than making sure my crash bungs worked :(
I know what you mean Pete although I also did it as my very 1st track day with about 1 years experience ( A Ducati experience on a 748) and it was
Best advice that I can think of is to be very observant, keep good distance from others, do your braking in a straight line before the corner and try and relax and stay smooth.
It isn't a race - all you want to be doing is enjoying yourself and improving your technique and confidence.
Don't bother trying to get your knee down......I've given up on that one. I must have wee thigh bones (big thumbs though)
Cheers

Re: Track evening Cadwell Park
Fully agree that it may not be the best track to start with but that's sort of the reason I opted for the short evening and the novices.... Plus the bike only goes as fast as I twist the throttle and I am no hooligan so hopefully it should be ok. But cheers for the concerns!

Re: Track evening Cadwell Park
I think I'll get a bit more riding experience under my belt before even thinking about a track day
Is there such a training/course called "Staying on your bike while stationary ?"
