"Performance Plus" courses are supposed to be very good Smile

Be good to do two though. One in the wet and one in the dry.

Good pictures.

Cheers

it was really good, learnt a lot about the capability of my bike and how much grip you still have in the wet. Would do one this year but there both fully booked as really popular. Might think about a novice track day instead or a road bike only one.

Glad you enjoyed it, it is a really good day. I did it last year, I think I would have got a lot more out of it if I'd done it sooner in my biking career, I understand why they're not trying to teach proper advanced riding techniques but having done IAM training a lot of what they were saying was making my skin crawl. There was a lot I still took out of it though.

The braking exercises were eye opening though. Spent all the bits where they were getting you to lock up worrying about having linked brakes but then doing stoppies on a VFR was hilarious rofl

It was a lovely day when I went so the track sessions were in the dry so didn't have any "getting to see how much grip I've got in the wet" but who doesn't like a chance to bomb round Cadwell?

Did performance plus at Cadwell a couple of yrs ago, not trusting my own ability put myself in a lower class and was immediately ruing that decision when two Harley's appeared in our group. Apart from that though was a thoroughly enjoyable day and I learned loads which is put to good use on the roads, would probably do it again in the future.

Just noticed from your pictures your headlight isn't taped, they were VERY particular about that when I did mine to the point where they wouldn't let bikes out.

Well they used to insist on it, all tracks did, rear light taped so your brake light doesn't spook other riders and front light so in the event of an accident your light glass stayed intact and not dangerously spread all over the track.

They were very arsey about it when we were there and I'm surprised given the reasons that they changed it?

Nah they never mentioned the lights been taped. Yeh I put myself in the lower group and was regretting it but then again its not really a full on track day so wasn't too fussed. Couple of guys came off when I was there aswel.
