Luggage
Can anyone recommend which luggage is best for the Thundercat, I have a magnetic tank bag, but probably not enough for hair dryer/straighteners/make-up/shoes etc etc!!!!
I need some for Bishops castle.

Re: Luggage
Oxford soft panniers will fit nicely. I have a set of the 'humpback' ones and used them for me and the missus when we went down to see R'cains last years.
Managed to get all her stuff in for 5 days and took a pair of undies.
This is what they look like on the bike.

Deso - Where did you missus sit? (has she got her own bike?) Otherwise her view from on top on the tailbag would be impressive!

Re: Luggage
Ellie,
I have a set of Oxford 1 saddle bags. They are a bit smaller than the ones Deso has, and fit the 'Cat without having to move the indicators. Bought 'em new, slung them on the bike and decided I didn't like them without even a road test.
Went for a Roll bag which I got from Hein Gerieke and can vouch that their waterproof claims are valid.
For more frequent use, hard luggage - at least for me - is the way to go.
If you're interested in the Oxfords, PM me - I'm not going to use them. I'm away at the mo, hoping to get back on the 29th and could do something then.

Re: Luggage
I've got the same throwover ones as Deso - if you're only wanting them for Bishops Castle Ellie you can borrow them if you want - brand new never used - i may or may not be selling them - not decided yet but i have now acquired the ventura stuff off flea bay so will be putting that on. Like i say i f you want to borrow them any time let me know or if you want to see them with a view to getting some you can call round have a look. I got mine brand new off a shop on flea bay last year - £46 if memory serves me right.

Re: Luggage
I had a nonfango rack with topbox and panniers on my 'cat. Nice slim fittings that didn't make the cases stick out too much.
Unfortunately I think they went out of business but you can still pick them up on ebay.

Re: Luggage
It seems that Nonfango are still in business in Italy and are still selling kit to fit both the Ace and the Cat. if you go here: Nonfango you can enter the make and model and select the parts you need, including rack and rails. I don't know if they still have a distributor in the UK, but I've sent them an email to find out if there stuff is still available in the UK. I'll let you know what they say.

Nonfango luggage IS AVAILABLE
Well, I heard back from Nonfango. It seems they shut down the factory for 4 years, but re-opened this year. They don't have a distributor in the UK at the moment, but can send whatever you want directly from Italy. Obviously that would cost more than getting it from someone in the UK, but hey at least we have the option to use their kit. And very good kit it is too.

Re: Luggage
Thanks for that, Suzie has very kindly offered to lend me hers, but I may well at some point invest in some, coz I'm hoping this won't be my last ride out, and have one or two long trips on my bike coming up. But will bear in mind all the suggestions........ Thankyou.
Re: Luggage
got the ventura rack fitted now - very nice it looks too - well you know what i mean! it looks even better seeing as how it was cheap off fleabay

Hard Case
I've been considering luggage options for my 'Cat and I'm interested in hard panniers. Never fancied a top-box for purely aesthetic reasons.
Having looked around the options seem very limited to say the least. The guys at Hein Gericke were a bit cluless and they reckoned that Givi only do a top-box.
Anyways - it seems that Nonfango could be the saviour but I'd be keen to have a look at the end result - can anyone direct me to some pictures.
Also, I tried mailing them - no reply - have they died already ??
Cheers,
Stu.

Re: Luggage
Stu,
Did you notice the posting about the panniers on the previous page [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.]
As far as I know they are the only ones that make side panniers for a 'Cat.
