Taste of Lincolnshire - Countdown

Hi Everyone,

There's only 13 days until the sixth Taste of Lincolnshire (ToL) rideout.
If anyone is still thinking about joining us then now is the time to decide and [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.].

For those of you who have already put your names down please check your details on the [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.] and post up a message on the ToL Sign-Up, Questions etc thread if they are not correct.

To ensure an enjoyable and pleasant weekend for all (well as far as I can) I need some more details or expressions of preference from you. So if you can reply to the following points I will endeavor to make the necessary arrangements.

Friday Night
Folk will be arriving at various times depending on their previous commitments that day so I suggest, as usual, if you wish to join us at The Cross Keys Pub, Grasby then turn up when you’re ready. I’ll see you there; the pub's open until 11pm. Be warned that eating at the pub is not an option, unless you book well in advance (it's popular!).

Alternatively, if you’d like a curry you can eat a take-away at my place. Here’s a link to the excellent curry house with menu and prices. If you want a curry on Friday please let me know. I’ll arrange ordering, collection etc, but you'll have to pay!

For those not in the village getting back to your digs will probably mean a taxi which should be booked in advance. Here are numbers for some of the local taxi companies:

Saturday Ride-out
We will be setting off from the car park of the Cross Keys Pub, Grasby. Marked 'A' on this map. Please arrive as soon as you can after 8:30am so there is time for a quick chat before departing at 9:00.The route is approximately 230 miles. Lunch will be at a local Lincolnshire hostelry and there will be comfort stops in the morning and afternoon for tea/coffee etc. Fuel stops have also been arranged. Please arrive with a full tank of fuel. The nearest filling stations are in Brigg see 'A' and 'D' on this map

Saturday Evening
The evening will again be at The Cross Keys Pub, Grasby. Dinner has been provisionally booked for 8:00pm. The menu can be viewed online. If you would like dinner at the pub please confirm name and numbers to me as soon as possible. Either via the site or text me 0h7903Four Hundred 468. This is really important – no booking, no dinner! I will be confirming final numbers on 31st August.

Since we will no doubt be imbibing in a few drinks on Saturday I wondered whether it was worth asking the landlord if he can put a barrel of Theakston’s Old Peculiar on for us/me! Let me know if you’d be interested in ensuring this was all drunk by the end of the evening.

Sunday Ride-out
Most people, I guess, will be heading home on Sunday at their own convenience; however some of you have expressed interest in a short ride on Sunday. I'm thinking maybe a ride up to Squires Milk Bar at Sherburn perhaps?

Tel we had a people carrier two years back when we were at the Queens Head - might be able to get everyone in. I guess this is something those staying at Arties Mill would organise.

BBC are currently saying sunny intervals, 17°C for Sat and Sun......!

Getting excited now - the bike will get a once-over tonight, I'll pack tomorrow and get away Friday before lunch I hope for a leisurely bimble up the country. I've picked my route to avoid motorways and the dull A15, hopefully the weather will let me enjoy it!

sorry Chris/everyone, not going to be able to make it at the weekend for various reasons. Really fed up to be missing it but I'm afraid it can't be helped.
