Broken Key in Givi Topbox
How gutted was I when I noticed i had half a key when I went to open my top box.
I could see the other half of the key was still in the lock and after a lot of faffing about with picks and blob of glue on an Allan key I stumbled across the fix.
The fix was 2 x unbent paper clips with superglue lightly and carefully applied to one side then slid up the largest groove on either side of the key.
Wait till it dried and then carefully extract. One paper clip lost grip but the other held and let me get the key out.
Lashing of lube and the spare key opens and closes it just fine.
Givi keys appear to be made of chocolate and not regularly lubing your lock doesn't help either.
Just thought I'd share in case any of you have this problem in the future.
Cheers

Thanks Ross, well done for getting the lodged bit out.I've had the plastic grip come off. Had a duplicate made at the locksmiths and use that now, agree the originals are made from a chocolate alloy.

Re: Broken Key in Givi Topbox
Method I use is to nearly straighten a paperclip (leave a bit of a curve in it as long as the lock is) and use a pair of pliers to make a 90° bend, 2mm long at one end, which you can usually slide along the top of the broken key and pull it out. (You're basically making a small hook on a leaf spring)
If the 2mm 'hook' is too long to fit, nip a wee bit off with the pliers.
