The benelli
Took last week off work to get a bit of riding in & the first 2 days were rubbish as i woke up to snow so took the opportunity to clean the benelli a bit more & paint an italian flag on the fairing lowers inspired by a ducati moto gp bike from a few years ago.
I did get out on the cat for an hour tuesday afternoon as the sun came out & still love the thing to bits reminding me why i will keep it.
Friday went out for the day on the benelli around the lakes & called at devils bridge for a bit of lunch as you do, im getting used to it although after 150 miles im aching, dont think i will be bringing to a thundercat weekend tbh.
It is using coolant & the engine is noisier than i feel is normal so its going in to the dealer for looking at as its under warranty.

Re: The benelli
Robinsons have had the bike just over 2 weeks now as parts are on order from benelli italy, usually 3 weeks to come they say. New water pump sealing ring for the coolant loss & new timing chain tensioner for the noisy engine. Hope to get it back for next weekend but we will see, good job ive got the cat to get out on.

Re: The benelli
My troubled start to benelli ownership. The dealer had the bike for 2 months in the end as they stripped & rebuilt the engine, all cooling system gaskets in the engine as well as head gasket. I got it back a week last saturday & went straight out for a ride, nice steady 20 mile run to check all was well & it seemed to run fine. Wednesday last week went out in the evening & went further affield, just over 100 miles & to my annoyance the coolant had dropped again, its going in to the oil & creating a lovely emulsion in the oil sight glass & filler cap.
The dealer picked it up again today so i will wait to see what they say, im hoping they can sort it out & get it back to me in a reasonable time, hopefully before autumn is here.

Re: The benelli
The fun continues. I got the bike re delivered to me wednesday morning & was looking forward to going for a tootle in the evening, it managed to go about 2 miles before cutting out & refusing to re start & needing to be recovered home.
Starting to get a little annoyed with the thing now & thinking about either asking for my money back or putting it my front room on a stand as an expensive but beautiful ornament.
The dealer is coming to get it for the 3rd time on monday.
