New bike maybe?
As the title suggests I'm going to look at a bike tomorrow & intend to buy it, I've been looking for quite some time but never found the one, one or two of you will know what I'm looking for.
The bike in question is quite rare & ive looked at a few but not found one that suits my ocd as in it has to be immaculate, those of you that have seen my old Thundercat know what I mean.
Anyway the bike is a one owner 2013 with just over 2000 miles & looks as new from the pictures I've seen so fingers crossed. I will stick some pics up if I do buy it.
Paul.

Re: New bike maybe?
Nice one Paul,
Hope everything goes your way and the new bike does indeed turn out to be all you've endeavoured for so long to find.
I do hope it's going to be an addition TO the garage, rather than a replacement IN the garage

Re: New bike maybe?
Thanks guys.
Absolutely tel, the Thundercat won't be going anywhere & will still be used regularly but I do want to use it less to keep the mileage down.

Re: New bike maybe?
Right i have bought it, well paid the deposit at least. I will be picking her up saturday 11th. The bike is pretty mint really but in my opinion pretty filthy behind the fairings & places like that even though they have cleaned it to put in the showroom.
there wasnt a used bike on display that was as clean as my old cat haha ive got a problem i know. i will take the thing to bits & clean it & get it up to my standards in no time im sure.
Havnt ridden it but my god it sounds amazing, nothing like i have heard before. Sat on it for quite a while & i didnt think the riding position will be too extreme at all but we will see.

Terry will have to see if it appears at s&t, really i should bring the cat?

Lovely Paul.
Definitely a head turner. There can't be many of them about.
There is a government website that tells you how many are registered.
Haven't seen it yet...honest.
I'm going to guess less than 30 in the Uk.
Can't believe it is fan powered though
Enjoy!!

Re: New bike maybe?
Rang the insurance (carol nash) to add the benelli to my policy ready for collection on saturday & was suprised & happy to be qouted £90.56 to add it until renewal in october, i was expecting an additional £200 or so to be honest, happy days. It is insured for me only & no pillion as i dont remenber the last time someone went on the back but if needs must the cat is insured for pillion.
Advantages of being old & having full protected no claims i assume.

and a suitable postcode - well done on getting a decent deal. CN wanted a grand from me last year, needless to say I'm no longer with them but even at half of that it's a bit eye watering for just 1 bike.
Warmer, saltless roads can't come soon enough - enjoy.

You ain't kidding, Steve, every time I take a bike out at the moment it seems to corrode before my eyes. And that's after copious amounts of ACF50 and rinsing off as soon as I get home. I've never known a winter so bad for rotting bikes away.

Re: New bike maybe?
Since getting the new bike I have been checking it over & changing coolant & brake fluid etc & generally cleaning & fettling as you do in winter, it's starting to look & feel like it's mine. I love it to bits

Re: New bike maybe?
It's bonny looking right enough.
Don't know if it's just the picture, but is the drive chain tensioner at it's limit?
(I'd have thought the dealer would have fitted a new chain and sprocket set if it was) :/
p.s.
You probably have it already, but the owners manual is always handy to have in .pdf format.

Re: New bike maybe?
We'll have to have a meet up in Fiazor this spring Paul when the weather gets a bit better, looking forward to seeing it in the flesh.

Re: New bike maybe?
Wooster, yeh it looks like it in the picture but there is a lot of adjustment left, its inly done 1700 miles, thanks for the info on the pdf, I have the owners cd with handbook & maintenance info on though.
Terry, yes as soon as the weather changes a bit, I look forward to it.

Ahh, is it one of those Cam type adjusters on the sprocket side? (which we can't see)
I saw images of it online and it's very different. (I quite like the idea )
I found a buyers checklist as well: [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.]
I didn't want to post it last night (it's a bit negative), but you know what you're doing.
Re: New bike maybe?
Read that after I had paid the deposit before picking it up & did think what the hell am I doing buying one of these. Now I have it & have worked on it a bit I think it will be no problem, it's just going to need extra maintenance & care, stop me drinking & eating chocolate in winter as I will be in the garage rebuilding the engine & gearbox every year! Haha
