Cotswolds and Oxon Loop II - 4-6th August 2017

After the success of last year's ride-out, we're doing it again this year from Friday 4th August to Sunday the 6th.  

Basing ourselves again at the Holt Hotel on the crossroads of the B4030 and the A4260 near Steeple Aston. There are other accommodation options available, B&B's from about a mile away and a  camp-site about 4 miles away, ask if you'd like to explore these options.
Meet at The Holt from Friday evening for those staying over, those close by who would like to join for the day's ride-out are most welcome and can join us in the hotel car park Saturday morning. Conveniently there is a petrol station opposite the hotel.


The price of the hotel (per person per night) BB: £40, all the rooms reserved have a double bed

Hey Steve, I'll be attending and staying over also the Mrs will be coming along as well. She won't be on the ride out though but with any luck will be riding.

Nothing booked so far that weekend so I'll be up for this one. Will just be the ride out though I think at this stage.

I'll almost certainly be there, probably like I was last time (turn up Sat morning and stop one night).

I'm not planning to stay over, but put me down for the Saturday meal, please Steve.

A very tentative yes I'd like to make this years event. If I can, I'd like to stop over Fri & Sat and partake of the evening meal as well please.
I'll plant the seed that the boss want's to come too and let that grow on her
So, a "possible" two night double and two places at the table please

Liking the response so far! I will ofc be attending and this time without questionable suspension!

The reception team have a event sheet with all the details (And you might also get a free upgrade if the big boss man is feeling nice!)

Give the team a call to book the room in advance.

Also some info for you, the Hotel is currently having the entire kitchen refurbished and most of the rooms are getting another over haul! So this place (inside at least) will hopefully feel different to last year!

Big update on room situation guy's!

We only have 8 double rooms for the Friday and Saturday night in total, so if people want to secure the rooms now would be the time!

I have the 8 rooms reserved but I will have to start letting them go soon due to what weekend it is. (FYI Hotel is 100% booked again, already!)

Edit: As you can see, room reserved and hotel showing 100%!

Hi guy's,

Just a push to get some confirmations from people that want to stay over at the Hotel as we are fully booked as shown above.

Could people post in here, message myself or Steve or the best would be to phone the hotel and quote the Tcat group to get your name on system.

I just want to know what I'll be dealing with for parking and table bookings for food etc.

I may be a possibilty for this.... I may have a work gig that gets in the way.
If I were to come I'd stay with my parents in Banbury so wouldn't need a hotel room but would join in the evenings for drinks and food

I only went and made this so it's on my Son's 1st Birthday >_<
That mean's I won't be available for the rideout on the Saturday.

I might look at maybe re-arranging the date if people would prefer? Last years was a good one and it would be great to get everyone back, so let me know what you all prefer?

I was just about to sort accommodation for this date so if it's going to change I won't sort it now lol

Well at the moment Steve is the only one that has confirmed his booking with me over the phone.

Looking at what I have on system and the following week could work 11th->13th or 25th->27th.

Definitely can't do 25-27th - that's bank holiday weekend and I'm away. Might be OK for 11-13th though.

I am also unable to do 25-27, sailing to Spain on the Sunday.

Apologies for the delay in replying - been away and had minimal internet access.

Sorry, I can't do the 12th - my daughter's persuaded me to go to Cropredy with her and family for bit of folksy stuff and (probably) a drop or two of real ale, with other bearded oldies, no doubt. And bikers get to camp for free!

Other dates are fine.

I haven't finalised the route yet, but I'm working on it. If it has to be the 12th I can pass it on to another run leader.

going around the houses with the dates, sorry - found more people could do the original dates, so have reverted back to the 4-6th.

I think most who have shown an interest are on Facebook, I have created an event page there which is by invite only. If you haven't received an invite, please let me know and I will add you. I know it is sacrilege using a platform other than this one, but people are on FB far more often than here and as a result responses are far quicker.

Just a heads up for those who are coming along - there are two big events happening that weekend in the area north of Oxford:

Countryfile Live at Blenheim, so avoid Woodstock and the area around Blenheim Park at all costs (I know, I got caught in the traffic last year).

Wilderness Festival at Cornbury Park, near Charlbury, a few miles to the west of Blenheim. We are going past there, but it's in the afternoon on the way back to the Holt, so I'm hoping they'll all be safely in the park by then.
