Caught red handed
Today set off down to Carlisle to take the bike to dealers to get the trip computer re-set, (long story with their computers off line during last service), and decided, in light of the cracking weather, to wear my summer gloves.
These are a pair branded as PHILLIP ISLAND Bikers Gear Australia, kangaroo leather etc, etc - had them for a few years and only worn rarely due to living in Scotia. They have a clear plastic reinforced knuckle part and just behind that is another clear plastic almost gel like panel which covers the back of the hand. So far so normal.
Riding in the glorious sunshine really enjoying myself when I suddenly become aware of the acute pain on both hands as the gel panel starts acting like a magnifying glass and is burning the back of both hands!
Pull off road and have to rip off both gloves much to the amusement of the passing traffic. Bare knuckle ride from then on, to and from the dealers.
Off to get the black paint for the gloves and burn salve for the hands !
Cheers

Seems odd for summer gloves Billy, I've not heard of them & that's possibly why.

Re: Caught red handed
You'd have thought Philip Island gear would have been tested in far warmer and sunnier climes than Scotland. Come to think of it Pam's first set of textile trousers was the same brand, let the water in at every opportunity (not bad for claiming being waterproofed).
From your thread title I did expect a different 'punch line'. I know I'm not he only one here to have suffered the same fate. I had a pair of red summer gloves, were great till it rained, the colour ran and I ended up with red hands from the dye.

Aussie stuff is known for its quality as well, such as Fosters excellent screenwash.

Sorry for hijacking a glove thread. Aussies have prided themselves as the world's biggest beer drinkers, the usual rivalry the South Africans thought they were, some justice maybe - SAB (South African Breweries) Miller bought them out, maybe we did out drink them after all
