Filtering in France
I know there'll be a few on here who are likely to be biking in France this year, so this might be of interest.
Just received a French newsletter with some interesting info about an experiment they are proposing for filtering. Key points are:
- At the moment filtering is, strictly speaking, illegal. Yes, I know, I've been on the Paris Périphérique too. And I've had a mirror removed by a pizza delivery scooter in Montpellier.
- They are proposing to allow it so as to improve traffic flows in certain areas which have high levels of congestion (basically some of the major conurbations, obviously)
- It will only be permitted under certain conditions
I've put together a Word doc with all the details - I won't copy it all here, but I can forward it to anyone who's interested - send me a p.m. with your e-mail addy.

-edit- Probably better to use the PM system to give him your email address mate, rather than publish it on an open forum.
...unless you're actually looking for piles more spam.

Re: Filtering in France
They can be a bit anal in Germany about their road laws, but having said that, I've never personally experienced any problems filtering there. I suppose everyone will have a different story thoughknarfScot wrote:
