Old whisky Empty Old whisky

I happened to mention to my in-laws that I had acquired a taste for whisky. Today they gave me a bottle they were given (a few years ago) and had never opened. Bits a bottle of Aberlour Glenlivet 12yo, 40%.

Now, as a whisky noob, what's this likely to be like? Drinkable? Nice? Valuable? It turns out it is probably from the 70s.

Thanks, but it isn't "The Glenlivet". It seems that back in the day the use of "Glenlivet" as a suffix was a thing, but it was dropped some time ago and so would later just be Aberlour.

I'll post a picture when I get a chance.
