How tall are you? How comfortable is the riding position as is? To be honest if you dont need them then I wouldnt bother, however if you have wrist/back or height issues then go for it.

Hi James

Welcome the forum and congratulations on passing your mod test. Smile

It's a great bike, not tried it with bar risers so can't comment but as said best to try it 1st and see how you get on before spending money to change it.

I have suffered with lumber issues for 16 years and I very rarely have issues with it on the bike. I'm 5' 10" and find it comfortable. Ridden over 600 Mike's in two days on it and my back was fine. Longer reach for you but has a nice high tank for support. Get it on the road and test it out. You'll love it either way, make sure you set it up for your weight though as if not you won't get the great handling it has to offer.

Hello & Welcome to the forum James,

Hope you enjoy our wee plot on the interwebby.

Ahhhh, the dark art of suspension set up, Have a look at this (and other) G_Link in the workshop area of the forums.
You'll find a wealth of info there Thumb

Welcome to the forum. I have the inside leg measurement of a centipede and manage the Cat perfectly well. I am around 16 stone, I have not messed with the suspension and she seems to go ok for me!

I bought it 15 years ago, I can't even remember who off! It does need to be stiffened up a little, but I don't ever seem to get around to it. Don't over think things. Ride, Enjoy

Hi James,

Welcome to the party!
Congratulations on choosing the 'cat. As others have said you should ride it for a while to see how you get on with it. I'm of a similar stature (think Oscar (Hollywood),  definitely not Oscar (Pistorius). Although any more jokes about my height and I might take someone out! Shocked But I digress)  and I didn't have any problems with the standard setup. Tweaking the suspension will make a difference,  but I'd get used to riding it a while before getting someone experienced to change it for you. Will be a few quid well spent.
Enjoy! Let us know how you get on. Post up some pics.

Cheers,  Chris
