Some horrible people in this world!! Empty Some horrible people in this world!!

Post  Snowcat Thu Jun 04 2015, 19:24

Awoken surprisingly early this morning by Mrs Snowcat informing me both the Cathouse (my old bike garage & where the Thundercat lived) and the new workshop had been broken into. Went down to discover they had completely cut the hinges off the cathouse door, 13mm solid bolts but the heavy duty container lock saved the day there. They then moved on to my workshop, my pride and joy carefully constructed by my own fair hand. On this occasion they tried to prise the door open (and the cheeky lowlife scumbags actually jammed a piece of my own fire wood in it (breaking the lock on the wood store in the process!!)

The lock held up and they were unable to get in this way so proceeded to try and peel back the steel sheet walls, they didn't get very far with this either and I can only presume the useless wastes of skin & DNA either decided enough was enough or saw the big feck off house alarm bell waiting to go off if one of the dirty scroats managed to actually get in.

To say I'm pissed off is an understatement as Ive took a day off work To try and put everything right, the police were as effective as a chocolate radiator (did I expect anything less??) phoning me to say they won't be attending as the chances are there's nothing they can do, also enquiring if I had CCTV footage; why should I have to have CC bloody TV on MY OWN property to watch MY OWN stuff, is this the age we live in, surely CCTV just advertises to the world that you are publicly trying to protect something!! On asking if I was able effect necessary repairs she didn't appreciate me sarcastically asking if she was offering to give me a lift with it. She offered to send the local PCSO round to reassure me about the preventative measures they have in place which are OBVIOUSLY working, I said not to worry, explained I was brought up on the rougher side of the town and that I had my own 'preventative tough justice' measures in place should I find any dirty little tossbag on my property in the future but to rest assured the authorities would be called once the little c*nt had 'fallen' a couple of times!!!!!

Wounded is not the word, though nothing was taken it really pisses me off that people think it's okay to come and take and destroy what hard working, honest people have saved and paid for, I am about as angry as I have ever been; and I have an ex missus you know so that tells you. Tonight I shall be mostly drinking a few (not too many) tinnies and waiting patiently with my welcome mat (bat) should anyone fancy round 2!!

Sorry to vent but gotta get it off my chest, mods please feel free to delete if deemed unsuitable.

Gutted for you...what absolute scumbags

I had a moped stolen from my place and they also tried to hot wire one of my bikes (this was about 10 years ago). Police did nothing but give me a crime number over the phone...cheers lads

I can think of few things in life more infuriating that having the stuff you work so hard and save so long for, to be damaged/stolen by some lowlife piece of scum.

The police are a waste of space, if they can't catch the 'criminal' by pointing a speed camera at them they aren't interested. As far as I'm concerned that only rank slightly above the thieving b******s themselves.

Be glad/proud that the obvious care and effort you put into the security on the cathouse/workshop, deprived the wee p****s of actually getting anything.

Relax and enjoy the drink or two. It may not feel like it at the moment but you won. left thumb up

Sorry to hear this Steve.

That's piss poor behaviour from fookwits.
Hope karma is waiting to kick their arses.
Glad to hear they didn't get what your were protecting but it's still a pain in the arse (and pocket) to pick up the pieces.

Bastards. It is such a violation when that sort of thing happens and you just want to do it back so they know how it feels. Trouble is they are such low life they wouldn't even begin to understand.

On the plus side tho', they didn't get anything so hats off to your workmanship.

Oh Steve sorry to hear the news sad

I think I know how you're feeling. My last house was burgled twice. Makes your blood boil! angry
Glad they didn't succeed, but it's horrible having to pick up the pieces. And now you suspect everyone Evil or Very Mad
I doubt it was anything personal, just a Dick who thought he could get something for nothing.
Try not to let if affect you too much.

Awww crap, sorry to hear mate. Little consolation saying "at least they didn't get anything" as I can imagine you're still feeling violated but hats off to the security you had in place.

Is it worth going through insurance to pay for all the repairs or are they going to rob you just as blind as the little scrotes would have done?

So sorry to hear this Steve but as others have rightly said their job is to get into your sheds and yours is to stop them (sad state of affairs I know) but as they didn't get in I'd say they probably went away feeling a bit stupid ... Steve 1 - 0 burglar scum

If only land mines and flame throwers were legal preventative measures

I had a similar thing happen last year, they sent a member of they're 'crime prevention' team round who kindly provided me with a warning sticker and a cheap (frankly useless) garage alarm.... weh hey

Happened to me years ago with my TZR, broke into one shed to get my crowbar to "open" my back gate. then had the cheek to wave at the neighbours as they trundled down the road.
Cops returned the bike 2 hours later after it had been dumped in a field, luckily it landed on a large tuft of grass so no damage at all.
Nothing is good enough for these imbeciles

Thanks for all the comments chaps, more sympathy here than from my boss when I told him I needed the day off to repair and make safe again, his comments "have you got holidays left to take" & "oh dear didn't know shed ownership was so perilous" were not well received.

Well anyway a bit of ingenuity, hard work and hopefully back stronger and better than ever, we've gone from this

It's a container lock Paul, get them on van doors as well, all the shackle is hidden so cannot be cut/attacked by normal methods so pretty 'scroat proof"!!

I dunno.
They must have spent a fair bit of time trying to break in and gave up, so they're not likely to turn up again and try to finish off what they couldn't manage.
They usually go for the low hanging fruit.

Your neighbours might have cause for concern though. :/

You did a good job of securing your stuff. Cool

We have rented garages here and the council replaced the doors, hasps and padlocks a couple of years ago. Of the 20, only 2 didn't get broken into a few days later. Mine and an old boy's from across the road. We were the only ones to have fitted our old locks and bars to the new doors. (There was damage to the new hasps, so they'd tried, but moved on.)

P.S. If you go for a container lock, don't scrimp on a cheap one. If the barrel goes on it you'll need a Stihl Saw to cut the thing off...been there, done that. Twice! Shocked
