Something other than Abba!!!
Hi All,
Well after trying to remove my front wheel to grease bearings and a general clean I was cursing the cheapy Chinese front stand which came with the bike,
Trawling through forums and the net thinking the Abba was the way to go with the front lift.
Spoke with Stevecat about his & he's possibly planning on keeping them, (Don't blame him) so the after more searching came across these which include the front lift in the price.
Shipping was 21 euros as well and should be here for the weekend.

I'll let you how I get on when it arrives

Re: Something other than Abba!!!
They look good.
I use a trolley jack and a block of wood thin enough to fit between the downpipes and the sump.
It rocks over on the sidestand, but allows enough clearance to get the wheel off.

Didn't fancy paying 50 quid extra for the few bits of box steel. Even had plans to make my own but this does the lot.
Looking now at fabricating the wheel Base

Re: Something other than Abba!!!
Well the lift has arrived. Two days from Germany which I am happy with.
It's quite heavy so should last. Basically 50mm pipe bent with a bracket attached
22mm socket put on one side and fitted to swing arm nut and half inch drive socket with 8mm bar threaded through the swing arm on the other side. Going to get a long 8mm Allen key on a socket for extra strength
Lifting it takes a bit due to the weight of the bike so going to look at finding something for extra leverage.
On numpty bit - didn't nip up the bit for holding the lever and it swung under the fairing. No damage.
Bad point - Didn't get a strap to lift the front end. Email sent to see whether it is part of the package. Maybe lost in translation!!!!
I have a strap already and it's possible to keep both wheels off the ground (not good practice) and stand still very stable.
Once I've used it a bit more and got some extra leverage will be very happy with it
Will get some pics u tomorrow
