Hello from Leicestershire
Hi everyone,
I own a '96 Thundercat in silver/yellow. Its covered 18k and seems in good, standard condition. Under the seat was a new bulb kit and set of plugs. Apparently the first owner took it touring around the Swiss Alps but so far i've been as far as Birmingham to work!
I've had bikes since I was 16 but had a bit of time off after a messy separation. I won't bore anyone with the details but after getting back on track the last thing I needed to do was get a bike so I set a budget and looked for something I could commute down the motorway on, have some nice sunny day rides and go a bit further afield as well, including taking the new Doris. I found the 'cat on eBay in Feb 2014. It was filthy but seemed a good buy. It had only done a few hundred miles in the previous owners four years or so of ownership so a good check over, oil and filter change later and it was good to go, even came with a new MOT.
The seat lock was broken so I sourced one, stripped it down and built a good one so that I could keep the same key.
The Doris and I are hoping to get out on it more this year, shift patterns are just a nightmare getting time off together so we have to plan ahead! I started her up yesterday, first time since October I think. I was expecting the battery to be flat but she fired up! Now she just needs an MOT and a wash...
Thanks for reading and ill catch up soon,
Jon

It's little jobs like that which can be quite satisfying and therapeutic once they're finished.

Hi, thank you for all the welcomes.
Gave the bike a quick wash yesterday in the fading light, ready for the MOT today, which it passed. Its colder than it looks today!
