Thundercats HO!
First topic message reminder :
Hi there
Just bought myself a Thundercat today. Very excited. Not had a bike for years so this it's great to be (almost) back on two wheels. I say almost as I need to complete my Direct Access before I can actually ride to Cat. It's going to feel like a long wait..... Hope to have it all sorted by this time next month.
Wasn't looking at Thundercats then my local bike shop suggested them and I found one nearby. Went and had a sit on and loved it. That was yesterday and I couldn't resist buying today!
The dealer is looking after it for me until I have my license all sorted.
I live in North Somerset near Bristol. Look forward to getting to know everyone on here.
Thanks for having me on the forum. Looks great!
Cheers
Will
PS will post some pics when I work out how!

Re: Thundercats HO!
Welcome to the site, nice bike you have there.
Enjoy the CBT, the 125's certainly aren't as much fun as the cat but (as someone who's just done the DAS recently) being on any bike makes me smile (unless I have to peddle).

Re: Thundercats HO!
Don't worry about the 2nd gear issue either as that seems to be about a 1000/1 shot of having that. Hardy bikes that can take a lot of stick, the Cat can. A bit of TLC and a good clean make them last for years to come. Old bike, doesn't mean it's a bad bike. The cat keeps up with a lot of modern stuff on the roads today still as its a torque'y engine for a 600, nowadays on more modern bikes, you have to scream the nuts out of them to get'em to go.

Re: Thundercats HO!
Hey Rob. Thanks for that. I have to say I have been worrying and the 2nd gear thing as I had to buy the bike without being able to ride it! That puts my mind at rest. How often do people clean/oil the chain? Is it worth fitting a scottoiler? I'm going to use the bike to commute so will do about 120 miles a week so roughly 500 a month. Any thoughts? Cheers.

Re: Thundercats HO!
I lube the chain every time I clean my bikes. If I'm doing the miles on a away weekend then 400-500 miles intervals. Should get a decent chain/ sprocket set to last over 20k easily.
The R1 I've never had to adjust my chain between service intervals ( 4k) but the Fazer8 needs it chain adjusting around every 2k miles ( 6k service intervals)

Re: Thundercats HO!
CBT in the bag. 8 hours of torrential rain but we battled through it. On to the 600s on Thursday so hopefully mod 1 and 2 early to mid June....
