New Member From N. Wales
Hi all,
I bought a '96 cat just before Christmas with the intention of doing it up. It was in a bit of a state when I got it but I thought 'a lick of paint here and there and it will be fine. Not a chance.
I got the swingarm powder coated and replaced all the bearings, shafts and seals in it which was fun. I had the idea of painting the fairings myself having had some luck in the past with a few small jobs on cars but after sanding, filling, plastic welding and priming just one panel I opted for a Chinese set of fairings. The fit wasn't bad after a bit of work and I am quite pleased with the results.
I took it out for the first time yesterday and you could certainly tell I haven't ridden a bike in ten years! I also found out the speedo didn't work but I've sorted that (worn down tabs on the drive washer).
I've got a few little jobs left to do but so far so good.

Hi Mikey, great to have you here, and to be honest, the cat looked pretty good to me when you got it lol.
But I am bias as I have a 96 model the same colour. Nevertheless, you've done a fine job giving her a new
look, she'll defo turn some heads. Hope to see you around the place.
