A Night Ride ~ Your Feed Back

Hi Folks,

Some time ago we did a night ride for the site members (when it was msn). It went down a storm.

Pressure and bullying is being applied to host it again

We did a 65 mile ride (which started at 1am), and only came across 5 .... yes 5 other vehicles out on the road.
We came back to base and had a Bucks Fizz Breakfast and then carried on into the day with a few J20s and later flashed up the BBQ for lunch.

Those traveling from afar then got their head down after lunch on the Saturday (at their discretion) and headed off home the following day (the Sunday).

Now, ... the logistics of a night ride for those wishing to do this can get a bit cloudy.

1. The ride needs to be Fri to Sat (pm to am) so you can have a whet or three # if you wish # after the run (on Saturday) and not have to ride home on the same day.
2. You'll need to allow time to ride from yours to ours (Nottingham) on the Friday ~ leaving time to rest before the ride in the middle of the night - [Fri ~ Sat], ie taking the Friday off.
3. This is not a touristy area so B&Bs are a bit sparse, there are however 2 Travel Lodges close by and one small hotel.

So this is really going to have to be a "something for the weekend".
Sooooo, before we make a forum up for this "We" (Bea & me) would like a bit of feed back and a show of hands.

The proposed date is for the weekend of (Fri-Sat-Sun) July 10th-11th & 12th, 2009. This covers a birthday run for Phoenix as well.

Who's up for it ? .. .. .. .. Who's opposed ? .. .. ..
Lets run this one up the flag pole and see if it flutters in the breeze .. . .

We appreciate it's short notice, but your feedback would be welcomed.

A bit of an oxymoron, night ride and Thundercats, but you have that problem sorted!!

Won't be able to make that weekend either I'm afraid. I'll be working at a big Exhibition/Festival all weekend sadly.

Only just in July but I'm free end of the month, 31 July/1Aug. Could make that one.

Sorry Tel, I cant do that date but end of August looks good to me, and I'd love to take part!!!!

Interesting idea, can't do the dates you are proposing (my 19th birthday...). But if you shift dates I could be up for it

So far the date seems to be the sticking point.

Date is an issue for me too,Late August would suit me better too

i know fred was 1 of the peeps pushing for this if i can get the time off with big mac coming & also our holidays in sept & the just gone bc + the tol might be a little pushed to do it

Not for me - headlight pants plus i'm rarely out of bed at that time let alone awake enough to ride a bike and on the rare occasion i am up that late i'm usually the worse for drink lol - have fun guys.

Yes we'd be up for that.

Headlight is great on mine so no worries there there aint. Just all depends on the day that is, Linz's B/Day is on the 1st of Aug and carn't do it on the 31st of july.

If we narrow the dates down then we'd just have that little bit more of a clue if we can make it.

Did it with Tel 3-4 years ago i think it was and it was interesting, to say we had to be quiet aswell through the night.

I think ~ Pete, this one gets shoved into the "you had to be there" and will not fly the second time.

The Idea is good, but as the general feeling is "Not for Me" , and in that vein is best given up .............. sorry Fred
