one way to find out but let us know how you get on. remember getting pulled in my mini when I was 17 I had 2 cable ties holding the front plate on and when u got to 20mph it flipped up he was going to book me for missing plate until he went to show me the fault and it was there .. Very Happy

Seen something similar many years ago with a plate that folds in half. The rider pulls a '2nd choke' lever and the bottom half was on a hinge to flip over the top section.
