first 'proper' ride
well me and the old man rode to work this morning, finished tiling the floor we needed to and at 10:30 set off for a ride and i've just got back (4:30) ... my word it was nice riding in the dry with the sun shinning and the roads clear and at one point I was in real danger of feeling too hot and I know it sounds stupid but when your on a bike you can smell everything ... instead of being in a box with the air con on you are riding round country roads with the smell of flowers and through little villages with smell of fish and chips ... it adds a whole new sense to the experience i've never had with car drive outs
all in all rather good ... apart from being a bit of a noob and starting to get a little tired

I found oil seed rape to be OK, pig farms not
Where did you go Alex? I think if we are all honest, the beginning of the season we are not as bike fit as we'd like to be.

I remember riding through lemon groves in southern Spain, the smells were amazing. Glad you enjoyed your ride out so much

Re: first 'proper' ride
Not really going for a blast tomorrow around the back of Hatfield and broxbourne area so will let you know buddy how ever saying that there is a road that leads from Hemel Hempstead to Leighton buzzard which is full of twisties and straights and I think there is a bike friendly pub along there as well. If you want I'll find out more about it and let you know

Re: first 'proper' ride
I love those signposts to places with interesting names.
Not too far from me there's Kingston Bagpuize (in the news, and not in a good way, a few years ago) and signposts to Eaton Appleton. Near Brackley on the A43 there's one to Evenley Mixbury, but as a cat owner I think my favourite is between Warwick and Balsall Common, pointing to Shrewley and Mouseley End.
Or maybe I just have a weird imagination.

Re: first 'proper' ride
well I was just about to write about having seen a sign for 'wetwang' on the way to scarborough but after reading your post i'm now beginning to worry that if you have a weird imagination does that mean I have a fascination with male genitalia lol

The Eco cabin could get 'interesting' [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]alleycat wrote:does that mean I have a fascination with male genitalia lol
I did wonder after we went through the place what all the 'fuss' was about, think the penny's dropped now [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.] A quick glance at the flag in my profile might explain why I didn't get it [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]

oh no not another club initiation
It does make you wonder whether the people naming these places are completely oblivious or they are secretly laughing to themselves ... and i'm also very glad i'm on a like minded forum full of people who also appreciate a place name like Wet Wang lol
