Battery charger
Evening all,
The novelty of bump starting my bike has now worn off so I bit the bullet and bought a new battery today, only to find that i'm forbidden from charging it with the standard car charger that's sitting in my garage wheres the best place to pick a bike one up? Not after any bells and whistles as I only intend to charge it once

Re: Battery charger
I might be totally wrong here (so please wait for abuse / confirmation from others) ... but I'd have thought that if you put that in and bump start it one more time the bike'll charge her up for you.....as long as you do some decent runs soon after.
Cheers

Re: Battery charger
I think you're right Ross but for £15 you can pick up an Oximiser which will charge and condition the battery also

Re: Battery charger
New battery shouldn't need charging. The only one I've bought came with an acid pack - pour in and it was good to go. Mind I did put it on my bike battery friendly charger to make sure first
Good to have a proper charger, but I'm with Ross, if it don't start as is, bump start and don't stop riding till you've enjoyed yourself for a while

Re: Battery charger
sweet cheers chaps, yeah it came with a gel pack and I've gotta put it in and leave it overnight then it said to charge it but if the general consensus is that I can slap it in and let the bike charge it then i'm happy to do that

Re: Battery charger
When Stevecat says "...don't stop riding...." he means give it at least a couple of hours.
But I'm with Snowcat as far as the Oximiser's concerned - it gives peace of mind that the battery will always be fully charged - they really don't like to be kept in a low state of charge for long. So regular use will almost certainly make the battery last longer, and save money in the long term.

Re: Battery charger
Glad you got sorted and were able to get out.
Quite a few bikes out today (can't imagine why ), I went down to Newland's Corner, didn't stop though.
