Hi,
I've just joined the Forum and am looking for someone either in London or Mid-Wales who'd be interested in having themselves and their bike featured in Classic M/cycle Mechanics. I'm compiling a new series for the mag called 'Emerging Classics', whose name I think is self-explanatory, and would like to contact someone with an early-ish 'Cat, preferably who's owned it quite a long time, to help with the piece.
If you'd like to see your bike in the mag and could spare a little time to talk, please send me a personal email and I'll get straight back to you.
Cheers - Markysimon

I live not too far from Wales, and regularly ride there. My Suggestion: Why not get the views of all four of us...
For my part, I have owned my 98 Cat since 2000, been around Europe on it, and love the old thing. Mine is also bog standard, more because I couldn't be bothered to change anything than any purist sentiment.
Weasley and I are the long timers, Stevecat is the big miles man and Rosco rides like the wind

Thanks to those of you who nominated me.

Thanks y'all for getting in touch so quickly. I'd be happy to talk to any and all of you, but for photographic purposes, I can feature only one bike. Any of you live in London and Radar, you say you live "not too far from Wales", so how far is "not too far" ?! Smile

Cheers - Markysimon

P.S. is it possible to send a 'persona' email on this forum so's we can swop phone nos.?

if you click on a users "username" it takes you to their profile.

From there you can either email that user or PM (Private Message) them.

Or to the right in their avatar space click on MP to PM them or on the envelope (if there) to email. wink thumb up

Thanks for thinking of me. I am around 60 minutes from London, had my 1997 Cat since 2001, although not a hyper miler, more a high days and holidays kind of rider. I have been a media whore before, appearing in Motorcycle Monthly in an article about the Cat, so happy to let one of the others have a go (but if you get stuck, let me know).

Emerging Classic......I like that.

I've had my 98 cat since 2003. I've had some great times with her and hope to have many more. Having great friends, great rideouts & meets on a great forum like this is the icing on the cake Smile

I'll string some words / stories of my experience for you if you'd like them but I'm a bit far from London and some folks think my baby isn't photogenic enough......I think she's just beautiful Smile

I like my bikes like my women....tolerable over long periods of time if ear plugs are worn.
Oh.....and really dirty.
