New respray pics
Well after a solid two weeks of thundercat ownership and having only managed a few decent runs and many other shorter (soggier) ones I thought id capitalize on the mrs being away for a week and respray the bike as I wasnt too keen on the red (my firms tops are red so the colour just reminds me of work lol)
So here is a pic of it when I first got it:
And how it looks now after fitting a pyramid single seat cowl, mra double bubble, tank cover, removing the grab handles and smoothing off the rear fairings and respraying/re decal-ing (if thats even a word)
Stripped and prepped the fairings on the saturday, sprayed them on the sunday then spent the next week after work in the evenings finishing and reassembling the bike and was done for her return on friday "no love it looked like that when I bought it"

Re: New respray pics
Stunning bike that colours are fantastic in fact probably
One of the nicest colour schemes I've seen, simples yet effective, well done, would live to see her out on a ride out some time

Re: New respray pics
cheers guys, yeah il definitely be coming for a ride out ... the tank cover is a bagster tank cover (http://www.intobikes.co.uk/products/001166/003106/Bagster-Tank-Cover-suitable-for-Yamaha-YZF600-R-Thundercat-1996) but I bought one off ebay (was blue) and I dyed it black.

Looks simple and effective, good work
Just hope you have not lost some top end as the black, red and black ones are the quickest you know!

Re: New respray pics
Woah, there's another brilliant re-modelling of a 'Cat!
Well done that man.
I think we're going to have to have a parade of 'new' 'Cat's this year. A bit of a beauty contest. Ross - you're barred!

Re: New respray pics
Nicely done!
If I may though, I hope you don't regret removing the rear grab handles - they are a very handy way of holding, manoeuvring and catching a toppling bike.....

Re: New respray pics
thanks for all the kind comments chaps ... and i'm hoping I wont live to regret my grab handle removal as I have already almost proved that im more then capable of dropping the bike even when they were still attached lol
just liked the look of the single seat cowl and nobody Ive asked are prepared to get on the back of it anyways

Re: New respray pics
Ditto prefer the look of the back end without the grab handles, and if you drop it it's easier to lift it just using the bars

Re: New respray pics
very nice! its crazy how different the cat ends up looking depending on who's doing the changing
If it wasnt for my grab handles id have dropped my bike a couple of times when manouvering my bike around the drive
