Re: new exhaust can
I've just spilt tea all down myself on opening the pic of your current can. That is absolutely bloody horrific. Good call on the replacement that's going to look and sound the part.

Re: new exhaust can
It was a temporary repair, (9 months ago) it's sounds nice but very loud and it passed the mot , but it's no good for fuel consumption

My sentiments exactly.

In fairness the previous owner had the bike professionally set up when he fitted the end can plus one of the first jobs I did was balance the carbs, whilst I agree with others sentiments regarding fuel consumption I still managed 200 miles + to a tank on a conservative day...... Plus it sounded F&cking awesome
And I don't think mine was that stubby, there'll be some pics up somewhere to compare.

Re: new exhaust can
Beauty is in the eye of the beholder. You saying the old can is an abomination or the new one?
I've had hearing issues my entire life and tend to be susceptible to certain frequencies, for me most of those small cans look way better than they sound.
This may be extremely old fashioned thinking, but I remember the importance of the right amount of back pressure was required in order not to burn the exhaust valves. Very low fuel consumption tends to tell me the setup could lead to problems. I know it was vital in two strokes, but a certain amount was also require for 4-strokes too.
Brain Blessed .. um another job for me to Google

Re: new exhaust can
That's a nice looking can Post up some pics of it on the bike when you can (pun intended!)
As for your short can WTF! Is the engine running a bit rich? Are you sure it's not an oil filter! Definitely time for a change.
Unfortunately some of us have to think about it a bit more often than others
However it's a rod I'm happy to bear Most of the time....

new one or old one ?? Hope you mean the new one.phildigger wrote:Have same can on mine, looks and sound awesome
well I must say I learnt my lesson , don't try and stubby a full size stainless steel oval can, because once you take the end cap out , the tube goes round and you can't get the bugger back in

You don't have to get a stubby Tony they do come in varying sizes. To a lot of people the standard cans are generally ugly affairs compared to after market ones. Added bonus is a better sound while riding.

It does. Had to take the baffle out tho. As soon as I pulled up at a junction I thought it had died due to it being so quite compared to the old one , sounds awesome tho ,phildigger wrote:Do sound good don`t they

Also I am on standard downpipes but they are slowly turning into cheese with soooo many holes in them. It sounds god damn awful. Thankfully getting a replacement soon.
The Delki looks good, kind of like my scorpion.
