Fresh face...
Hi all,
I live an work in Manchester and I have been riding for several years. Mt first bike was a CBR but then in 2010 I bought a Thundercat. Was a joy until it developed the 2nd gear issue and finally someone knocked me off it in early 2011 . So call it labour of love or insanity, I rebuilt the bike. Finally got it on the road again in August 2012.
More recently it developed an electrical problem which thanks to winter has had to wait for repairs.... I will post a picture soon.
Cheers, Jonathan

Re: Fresh face...
Hi Jonathan,
Welcome to the forum. Have a good look around (if you haven't already), and hope you enjoy.
Take a look in the "Something for the Weekend" section and see if there's anything that may tweek your interest. Maybe see you out there sometime.
Cheers
Tel
PS: In nearly 12 years of this forum (this is it's 4th Guise), we've only had one other incident of the 2nd gear (supposed common) problem. Glad to hear you stuck with it and rebuilt her

Re: Fresh face...
Hi Jonathon and welcome to the forum, great choice of bike and as Tel said fair play for sticking by it, these are fairly bullet proof so sorry you've had a bit of bad luck.
Whereabouts in Manchester you from, I'm just up the road on the Oldham/Manchester border and there's a couple of other Mancs on here just recently, could be some sort of invasion!!
Yes pics, we like pics and as yours looks a little different to the norm would be interested to see a little more detail.
Have a look around, maybe look at something for the weekend and join us for a ride out, or as you're local perhaps we can meet up for a spin out at some point now that the weather (appears) to be improving!!

Re: Fresh face...
Hi & Welcome Jonathon.
I've been told I try to make mine have a 2nd gear issue but touchwood I've gotten away with it so far.
As has been said I think you've been unlucky (twice)
Hat off you for building her back up.....hope you were ok.
Looks like you've done a great job too - looking good.
Cheers

I'm originally from Manchester! but now I'm living just outside of the Cheshire plains in a lovely place known as Ellesmere Port (made famous by Cheshire oaks).... on a more serious note, I'm also in Manchester quite a bit (family their) so like Snowcat said we could meet up for a ride out....

Hi Jonatnan,
Welcome to the site! Glad you found us
Sorry to hear you've had problems (quite unusual despite the folklore), but credit to you for doing the re-built and I hope you get the electrical problem ironed out.
Join the locals for a blat sometime and hopefully you can join us on one of the group meets this year. Worth doing if you've not ridden in a group before. Hope to you can make it.
Cheers,
Chris
