Is it just me, or..........
Is everyone just bursting to get out and wring the fekkin neck out of the bike???
Took the bike out the garage the other day to give it a little clean and polish. Got the sudden urge to get suited up and wring its bloody neck. Was like a mad frenzy came over me to get out there and ride the hell out of it. Then I thought of all the slush and grit on the road and reluctantly pushed her now shiney ass back into the garage...no happy, canny wait for decent weather and dry roads to go out and have some fun!!!
Bring on the spring!!!!

I hear ya brother!!
though today the roads where dry so i sneaked a ride out, bike needed a good thrash to degunk the carbs, but now running scchweeettt..
tomorrows meant to be good to so might do a run out on a local tt type loop, though the bike is now filthy so I should clean her too... and do the oil change..

Re: Is it just me, or..........
I HAD to get out on the Cat today
I booked the Cats MOT for today and made sure testing station was miles away so I could get a decent ride, thought it would be 10 but was 15, oh well happy days. she rode awesome and the r oneaction of the 10yr old when I pinned it past his dad was a delight, made me smile
Not too bad a result though, she failed on warped rear disk and front wheel sticking from gunked pistons. Although when I brought the bike home she felt easier to push so im sure it was just a case of using them to get free.
Another few days time and I gotta travel ALL that way again hehe.
Fab ride, nice weather, bit windy in places :(. specially at 80 . Don;t know how people do m ways on bikes lol

I think they add diesel to the grit up here so it's only 'fun' in the car.
Endurance on two wheels.
My shiny ass needs an even shinier back wheel put back on first.
Oh and the ability to hold on to some oil would be nice.
She's gonna be working again in February though - I can feel the smell of it.

Itching, not the word. Waited patiently and tried to bide my time waiting for the roads to dry up but ended up saddled with a load of jobs off the wife and by the time I'd got through them my window of opportunity had passed.
Working on Saturday though and the plan is that the roads will be dry and I'll be riding to work and taking the long way home after

I manged to get out last Saturday, only problem was looked like every car in London was out too
There was snow everywhere (not on the road thank goodness) and it was a far colder 6C day than the one the Scottoiler recorded in December.
Did manage to get up to the speed limit for a few seconds in the (/).
Was worth it

managed to get out of the bike in Northampton both yesterday and today. Having ice on the ground was driving me nuts. Good timing too as the traffic was a nightmare for two miles so was able to filter past it...always puts a smile on my face :-)

Know what you mean chaps, but the roads are rubbish at the moment so I'm not venturing out
Did see a KTM RC8 heading over the Humber Bridge last Sunday - he must have been feeling the same!
Ride safely. Hope to catch up with some of you over the summer.

Absolutely desperate to get back out on the bikes, as they've been stored for way too long due to our house moving antics!! Whilst I've not had a chance to get out on them JUST yet (you're not wrong with your comments about the roads up here Rosco!), I have, at least manage to get them shipped off to the mechanics for some long overdue TLC, ready for their MOTs and subsequent 'F-R-E-E-D-O-M' on the roads again!
...... now, does anyone need a kidney..... as I'm probably going to have to put mine on eBay to pay to get them back
Looking forward to catching up with a few of you laterz...... :whoop:

What I meant was, how do people ride motorways on a windy day, specially at 80+ mph. I was on A+B roads going for MOT, hit 80 for 2 seconds and thought this is bloody dangerous lol
Maybe this equates to inexperience, i'll get there one day

Re: Is it just me, or..........
Hi mate.
I felt exactly the same when I went out on a windy day on my first bike (Suzuki bandit) during the last millennium.
It's just experience and your body, brain, muscles will just get used to automatically making the right little movements (and sometimes bigger ones)
Bit similar to driving a car in a straight line as you still automatically make lots of little adjustments I guess.
It can definitely be scary passing big lorries when it is really windy as you can go quickly from no wind to a blast.
It's all part of the 'fun'
Endure enough and you'll start to enjoy it.
Cheers
Rosco

Re: Is it just me, or..........
As Rosco says a lot of it is experience.
I've ridden a lot in the wind, but I think one of the worst was riding on the M4 (yeah I know, my fault ) two up with luggage for a 2 week trip to Ireland last year. The wind was pretty strong, I found I couldn't maintain the speed limit. My helmet was being buffeted about to the point I could only see a blur. Put up with that for a while and then took the next off ramp and continued on B roads.
No sign of any wind at all, and the bends were really good
Take it easy in windy conditions, some of your muscles would be working harder and this can fatigue you quicker, neck muscles in particular.

We had a cheeky ride out the first weekend in January but they're tucked away under boxes ready to move as we speak.

Got out on the blade yesterday and I looooooovvvvvvveeeeeeddddddd it!! Can't believe how much I've missed it and really had a blast. It was a bit cold, damp and icy at 7am when I set off so had to go easy but by midday when I was coming home the sun had dried the roads.
Can't wait for next weekends camping exploits now. Hawes or Nortg Wales, no decision made on where yet!!
