STARTT Medical card
Hi
I know this has been debated on the CRADAR thread but thought that i would post a new topic to say about the medical card that I have received through today. For the grand total of 6.50 I received through a plastic card (credit card sized and pictured below), plastic holder and a lanyard holder thingy to go round your neck. It has next of kin details on it which I know some have voiced concerns about what happens when/if those details become out of date (which is possible) BUT the thing I liked about this is that they do free updates for life so if the next of kin or ANY of the details changed, you can contact them and get an updated card printed and sent out. I really think that for this price then its worth it, can only be a positive thing in my eyes. It's great having an electronic device but if that device has a PIN then it wont be a lot of help in an emergency situation. Each to their own obviously but thought it couldn't hurt to at least post about it and show some pics.

This came from a company called Bespoke Medical Training,

Order form is on this site:

Once you submit the form, they contact you to confirm what you want (if its just the card itself, the holder and the lanyard thingy). They send you a paypal invoice for the total and then send out the card...really fast.

Re: STARTT Medical card
Great idea
However being a canny jockenesse type, I can't help thinking 10 mins on word and a laminator would come up with similar results, could even personalise it with previous injurys, extra contact details etc,

Re: STARTT Medical card
I guess anyone could put together something in word and then laminate it but in all honesty...6.50 really isnt much to spend out to get the card, a holder and a lanyard thingy...just out of interest, how waterproof is laminated stuff ?
Also, they say that groups can get a discount on their "biker down" talks so not sure if its something that peeps might be interested in at one of the other events, wee mac or an equivalent ? Just a thought...
