Fan stopped Working
Hi all I noticed the other day that my cooling fan has stopped working.
I noticed about a month ago that my temperatures was rising more than normal so after I got back from riding it from work the other day I left it running and had a look and sure the fan is not moving.
At this time my gauge was saying 100 degrees. I am going to have a look other the weekend just wanted to see if anyone has any advice or knows any common fault etc to look out for.
THANKS

100 degrees won't trigger the fan. The Cat gets alarming hot before the fan comes on, pushing towards 105 IIRC. I only ever hear mine when in stop-start traffic on a really hot day, other than that it never comes on anyway.

Re: Fan stopped Working
same here! a hot ride into slow stop start traffic can get it to work but only on a very sunny day...most rides it never comes on
Re: Fan stopped Working
I had a similar worry but again after being stuck in traffic on a blisteringly hot day it came on, temp gauge was right over push 110deg so I wouldn't be unduly alarmed.

Re: Fan stopped Working
I have never heard mine come on, so wouldn't know if it works lol
If your cat is overheating more than normal then perhaps a coolant change is due. Cheap and fairly quick to do.

Best bet, especially if you do a lot of commuting or stop / start riding is to fit a manual over ride switch. Running hot really doesn't do 'em any good.
