03 Thundercat in best colours ;)
Well, seems like the time has come for me to move on from my Cat :(
Only reason for sale is i fancy a change, going to move on to something a bit more sporty...
So the rundown:
2003 Thundercat in the 02/03 Blue and white colour scheme - Far less common than the other colours!
Mileage is 47,000 at the mo, but this may increase as i use the bike whenever possible.
Full service history and odd receipts for caliper rebuilds, bearings and bushes etc.
Full Acumen Cat 1 alarm system with installation certificate.
Heated Grips.
Blue reflective rim tape.
Full micron stainless steel exhaust system with carbon fibre wrapped end can.
Braided brake lines.
solo seat cowl
undertray/plate hanger trimmed down with aftermarket Arrow indicators, and matching indicators up front.
Black Double bubble screen.
plenty of life in chain and sprockets. ( -1 front +2 rear)
GORGEOUS Pirelli Diablo Supercorsa BSB's, 120/70 front 160/60 rear
Tank and cowl were repainted a couple months ago using genuine OEM decals - cost £200 just for the decals!
Fully serviced couple thousand miles ago using iridium plugs and OEM filters.
Bad points:
Couple small marks as you would expect with a 9 year old bike
right hand fairing has hairline crack in it.
Compression adjuster seized on left fork leg - luckily its seized at factory setting which is fine.
Compression on rear shock needs regassing - again, its not a problem, just being honest.
Bike has been set up for a 15.5 stone 6ft rider, forks dropped through 5mm, handles beautifully!
Bike will have oil and filter change prior to any sale and carbs will be synced at same time.
Bike comes with fresh MOT til 07/10/13, taxed til 31/1/13.
I bought this bike back in january after looking at many bikes with sub 20k mileage, this one was on 40k, but it was obvious she had been looked after, loved and more importantly used as she should be. There was no competition in my eyes, this was a far better bike than all the others i looked at, and still is. I would happily jump on her and ride her to scotland tomorrow, she has never let me down in 6k+ miles, anything she has needed, she got.
Located in Portsmouth.
Priced at £1400 FIRM

Ok im going to be away for next ten days or so, when i get back the bike will be having an MOT and service, and will then be put up for sale properly. Price is open to offers, just not silly ones! Ideally id like to see £1500 for her, which imo she is worth all day long!

Not much point in offering if you've already bought one Tom

Only problem Dean is because of the time of the year people don't tend to buy unless they need to as especially the fair weather bikers will be starting to tuck them up for the winter.Dean-J wrote:Price is open to offers, just not silly ones! It's bargain time for people looking now and it may be harder to shift for a decent price as a result. You may have more luck trading it in or perhaps waiting until spring.
I'm looking to pick up an old blade as a project but will look to buy around October/November as I'm confident I'll get a lot more for my money. Looking on eBay items ended the classifieds priced realistically aren't selling for £2k+ but the auctions are going for not much over a grand, I reckon I'll save another couple of hundred quid or get a better bike by holding on.
People will make silly offers because they know it's a buyers market and the bargains will defo surface as people get desperate to sell.
I hope you get a good price though mate, good luck

Whilst everything you have said is correct, i have only ever bought/sold bikes at this time of the year, and imho i dont think it makes much of a difference with a bike like a Thundercat. A cat has such appeal as a newbies first big bike that so long as someone is looking for one, time of year doesnt really make any odds - plus with the new licencing changes coming up, more newbies than usual are taking their tests in a rush, and so are going to need a good starter bike! ( i hope so anyway!)
Bike will be getting an MOT week after next, so will actively try and sell her once she has flown through

Re: 03 Thundercat in best colours ;)
Bike was MOT'd today - as i suspected a set of rear pads were needed, and advisory on rear tyre, but other than that she breezed it.
Now MOT'd til 07/10/13.
Rear tyre will be replaced at close to my asking price....

I have replaced both tyres with Pirelli Diablo supercorsa's, SC1 front SC2 rear. Also went up to a 120 70 up front and blimey what a difference! just drops into corners with no effort at all - so bloody well in fact that im kind of having second thoughts about selling! will see how i feel after the weekend....

Re: 03 Thundercat in best colours ;)
Well as much as i loved riding the Cat this weekend ( over 340miles put on her yesterday!) im still going to sell, however i am not going to push the sale in any way.
the price is now £1400 firm. Someone comes and puts it in my hand and you'll have a great bike, but until then, i shall enjoy riding her as and when i get the chance!

Re: 03 Thundercat in best colours ;)
Will do, bought myself another Yam, after much deliberation i went the other way and instead of buying a Gixxer 750 or Blade, i bought myself an FZ6 to streetfighter instead! picking her up tomorrow, £400 blown on parts already, looking forward to getting stuck in!

Good luck with the project Dean. Have you invited the new Thundercat owner to this site?
Cheers
