Hello - New member and almost an owner...
Hi from a potential TCat owner... having been looking for a bigger bike for some time I went to see a 2003 14k miles model in blue today and I think I have committed myself to a purchase !
I'm stepping up from a Kawasaki Ninja 250r which I have been riding since 2010 and looking forward to something bigger and able to tour.
I laughed at a few of forum posts saying that the vertically challenged are taking over the site - sorry but I am swelling the numbers further... I stumbled across the forum after looking for advice on lowering links..! Shorties Rule !
Any buying advice, lower links advice and hellos from owners in South Wales very welcome !
Geoff

Hello & welcome!
Nothing wrong with being short! There's lots of vertically challenged people on here.
I don't know about them taking over the site tho, they'd have to bite the ankles of us tall folk first

Hi Geoff,
Great to welcome a new member to the site. Especially if you can cause mayhem with your first post!
Tall people have their heads in the clouds and don't 'arf hit the ground fast when they fall over!! Just my wee contribution to the debate
Wait until you get the bike and have a chance to decide if you really need to modify it. It can be done and if it makes you more confident then it's worth doing. At 5'6" I managed without a problem. It's a heavy bike compared to newer bikes and when full of fuel and luggage can quickly get past the point of no return if it over-balances (from stationary that is). Everyone has an experience to relate!
Hopefully those members who have done the mod will be along to impart their experiences soon.
Cheers,
Chris

Hi and welcome, good luck with the purchase.
Ain't that the truth :( I've tried that out and have to agree, wish I hadn't now

You could've been my twin davwaz (give or take a year) but I think we should leave weight out of the topic though!
